Vector co‐occurrence morphological edge detection for colour image
Morphological edge detection is a principal component in pattern recognition and machine vision. Traditional edge detection operators only take pixel mutual into consideration.

Conflating “co-occurrence” with “coexistence” [PDF]
Carter et al. (1) argued that coexistence is practical at fine spatial scales based on temporal segregation between tigers and people in and around Chitwan National Park, Nepal. The authors presented their coexistence model as an alternative to the widely held principle that long-term tiger conservation requires extensive areas where human-use is ...

Co‐occurrence patterns in diagnostic data [PDF]
SummaryWe demonstrate how graph decomposition techniques can be employed for the visualization of hierarchical co‐occurrence patterns between medical data items. Our research is based on Gaifman graphs (a mathematical concept introduced in Logic), on specific variants of this concept, and on existing graph decomposition notions, specifically, graph ...

Co-occurrence Filter (CoF) is a boundary preserving filter. It is based on the Bilateral Filter (BF) but instead of using a Gaussian on the range values to preserve edges it relies on a co-occurrence matrix. Pixel values that co-occur frequently in the image (i.e., inside textured regions) will have a high weight in the co-occurrence matrix.

Psoriasis and leprosy: A rare co-occurence
Occurence of psoriasis and leprosy in a single patient is extremely rare with very few cases reported. Better knowledge of the pathogenesis of these two diseases has led to some understanding of this rare association. We report such an association in one

Network Inference From Co-Occurrences [PDF]
The recovery of network structure from experimental data is a basic and fundamental problem. Unfortunately, experimental data often do not directly reveal structure due to inherent limitations such as imprecision in timing or other observation mechanisms.

CO-OCCURRENCE NETWORK OF REUTERS NEWS [PDF]
Networks describe various complex natural systems including social systems. We investigate the social network of co-occurrence in Reuters-21578 corpus, which consists of news articles that appeared in the Reuters newswire in 1987. People are represented as vertices and two persons are connected if they co-occur in the same article.

Duck species co‐occurrence in hunter daily bags
As multi‐species harvest management gains support among waterfowl managers, increased understanding of duck species relationships during harvest is needed. We used U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's Parts Collection Survey data from 2002 to 2011 to develop
