Catalytic Pyrolysis of Waste Polystyrene Over Fe–B Composite Catalyst for Enhanced Liquid Fuel Production

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Healthcare derived polystyrene waste represents a growing and under addressed fraction of plastic waste streams due to contamination risks and limited recyclability. This study aims to investigate the valorization of waste polystyrene foam through catalytic and noncatalytic pyrolysis pathways to evaluate product yield distribution and identify

Changing a Winning Team—Replacement of Brominated Flame Retardant and Antimony Trioxide in Acrylonitrile–Butadiene–Styrene

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, EarlyView.
This comprehensive study investigates reducing the amount of brominated flame retardant (Br) and/or antimony trioxide (ATO) in acrylonitrile–butadiene–styrene. Therefore, condensed‐phase flame‐retardant mechanisms are introduced into the flame‐inhibition system.

Synergetic Combination of Carbon Xerogels, Graphene Oxide and nano‐ZnO for Aqueous and Organic Supercapacitors

open access: yesBatteries &Supercaps, Volume 8, Issue 3, March 2025.
This work proposes the synthesis of carbon‐based nanostructured materials obtained using ZnO as both nanos‐ template and catalysts simultaneously. During the synthesis, GO was used as a stabiliser, preventing the collapse of the 3D structure and improving its properties in terms of capacitance and surface area.

Graphite Co‐Intercalation Chemistry in Sodium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesBatteries &Supercaps, Volume 8, Issue 3, March 2025.
Traditional intercalation chemistry in lithium‐ion batteries cannot allow sodium storage in graphite. The co‐intercalation chemistry changes the situation. It enables reversible and ultrafast sodium storage in graphite. Revisiting challenges and summarizing recent advances are of significant importance to exploit the full potential of graphite in ...

Mixed biochar obtained by the co-pyrolysis of shrimp shell with corn straw: Co-pyrolysis characteristics and its adsorption capability

Chemosphere, 2021
The co-pyrolysis characteristics of shrimp shell (SS) with corn straw (CS) were investigated by comprehensive characterization to reveal the synergistic effects and further discuss the adsorption capability. TGA results showed that pyrolysis behavior and reactivity were improved with the increase of heating rate and doping ratio of CS. Flynn-Wall-Ozawa
