Evidence from the South African Energy Sector on the Impact of Gas Consumption and Technologies on the Environment

open access: yesRUDN Journal of Economics
Legacy emissions from fossil fuel consumption signify the lasting impact of past carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions on present-day emissions. Given that the current emission levels are also high; it has become urgent to deal with this crisis. This study aims

Innovative Processing of Compacted Waste Aluminum Alloy Powders via Controlled Remelting and Solidification

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates an efficient recycling route for out‐of‐spec AlSi10Mg atomized powders through compaction and arc remelting followed by suction casting. By correlating compaction load, cooling rate, and resulting microstructure, we show that intermediate pressures (50–80 kN) and rapid cooling refine dendrites, reduce porosity, and enhance ...

Evaluating the role of renewable energy, economic growth and agriculture on CO2 emission in E7 countries

open access: yesInternational Journal of Sustainable Energy, 2020
This study examines the dynamic links between per capita CO2 emission, economic growth, agricultural value added, renewable and non-renewable energy consumption and investigates the existence of Environmental Kuznets Curve (EKC) hypothesis for a panel of

Environmental Kuznets curve in Indonesia, the role of energy consumption and foreign trade [PDF]

open access: yes
This study examines the dynamic relationship among carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, economic growth, energy consumption and foreign trade based on the environmental Kuznets curve (EKC) hypothesis for Indonesia during the period 1971–2007.

ENERGY CONSUMPTION AND CO2 EMISSIONS IN CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY

open access: yesProceedings of the Symposium on Global Environment, 2002
The construction industry builds and rebuilds various infrastructure facilities. During the lifecyde of infrastructures, many materials and much energy are consumed, and the main factor of environmental impact, CO2 is released in the process, from the point of construction, usage, maintenance, all the way up to demolition.

Energy Consumption and CO2 Emissions in the Spanish Economy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
In this paper we set out to examine the energy generated emissions from a different viewpoint, focusing on final energy consumption and trying to ascertain which demands are the most costly to satisfy in terms of emissions of pollutants to the atmosphere.

Interaction between Molten Al‐Killed Mn–B Steel and Carbon‐Bonded MgO Refractories Based on Recyclates

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
High‐temperature interactions between low‐sulfur Al‐killed Mn–B steel and MgO–C refractories (0 and 50 wt% recyclates) are studied via finger immersion tests (1600 °C). Surface‐active elements influence infiltration. MgO/CaS layer forms, along with spinel and calcium silicate.

Measuring energy efficiency and its contribution towards meeting CO2 targets: estimates for 29 OECD countries [PDF]

open access: yes
Using results for 29 OECD countries from the estimation of an extended version of the model advocated by Filippini and Hunt (2011a), actual energy consumption and CO2 emissions are compared to notional energy consumption and CO2 emissions if the ...
