Simultaneous detection of hydrogen sulfide and carbon dioxide based on off‐axis integrated cavity output spectroscopy using a near‐infrared distributed feedback diode laser

Microwave and optical technology letters (Print), 2021
An optical scheme for simultaneous detection of hydrogen sulfide (H2S) and carbon dioxide (CO2) is demonstrated. A near infrared tunable diode laser operating at 1.578 μm including the absorption lines of H2S at 6336.62 cm−1 and CO2 at 6336.24 cm−1 was ...

Dynamics of the CO2 lower laser levels as measured with a tunable diode laser

Applied Physics B Photophysics and Laser Chemistry, 1983
A tunable diode laser operating in the 4.3 μm region is used to probe a conventional cw CO2 laser discharge. Vibrational populations in the 1000, 0200, 0220, and 0110 levels of CO2 are measured under lasing conditions, i.e., in the presence of intense 10.4 and 9.4 μm fields.

Diode Laser-based Sensor for High Precision Measurements of Ambient CO2

Laser Applications to Chemical, Security and Environmental Analysis, 2008
We report on the development of a high precision sensor for monitoring ambient CO2. Our TDL ICOS absorption spectrometer operates at 2 µm and achieves a precision of 1:3000 for the CO2 mixing ratio.

Diode Laser Absorption Sensor Design and Qualification for CO2 Hypersonic Flows

Journal of Thermophysics and Heat Transfer, 2011
The design of a diode laser absorption spectroscopy sensor to probe freestream conditions of hypervelocity CO2 flow in the Longshot Free-Piston Facility is presented. The Longshot Facility of the von Karman Institute is an important facility for ground test and numerical validation applications as it can produce high Mach number and highReynold’s ...

Characterization of CO2 and diode laser welding of high carbon steels

Journal of Laser Applications, 1999
Deep penetration welding with a high power CO2 and diode laser may offer an attractive means to join metal for certain applications, for instance: welding car drive shafts and gear plant. The rapid cooling rate of laser welding results in high hardness discontinuities across the welded joint; however, this leads to brittle weld and fatigue failure.

Single-mode GaSb-based laterally coupled distributed-feedback laser for CO2 gas detection

Chinese Physics B, 2023
We report on a GaSb-based laterally coupled distributed feedback (LC-DFB) laser with Cr gratings operating at 2004 nm for CO2 detection application. Butterfly packaged with single-mode fiber pigtailed, the laser diode operates in the continuous-wave mode

Infrared diode laser absorption features of N2O and CO2 in a laval nozzle

Applied Physics B Photophysics and Laser Chemistry, 1992
Design and operation of a pulsed Laval nozzle and the characterization of molecular flow through such a nozzle using IR tunable diode laser (TDL) is the central theme of this work. The results here deal with He diluted N2O and CO2 gaseous systems. Boltzmann type plots of the spectral intensity data of both N2O and CO2 show non-linear behaviour. We have

Laser-assisted surgery addressing snoring long-term outcome comparing CO2 laser vs. CO2 laser combined with diode laser.

Acta oto-rhino-laryngologica Belgica, 2002
Our study encompasses 61 patients (49 men--80.3%; 12 women--19.7%) treated from September 1998 through August 2001. Mean follow-up covers 25 months (range: 7-43 months). Our CO2-LAUP technique involves vaporizing the palatine mucosa along a rectangular surface from the palatal dimple to the base of the uvula; trimming the palatine arches under the ...

Absolute diode-laser frequency calibration using varactor mixing with a stabilized CO2 laser. Ozone spectrum near the 9R6 CO2 frequency

Optics Communications, 1981
Abstract Efficient infrared varactor mixing near 9 μm has been performed between diode-laser and CO 2 laser. Difference frequency up to 17 GHz has been detected using non linear mixing between the two radiations and the first four harmonics of a microwave frequency ( f = 4.2 GHz).

Success Rate of Benign Oral Squamous Papilloma Treatments After Different Surgical Protocols (Conventional, Nd:YAG, CO2 and Diode 980 nm Lasers): A 34-Year Retrospective Study

Photobiomodulation, photomedicine, and laser surgery, 2021
Objective: The aim of our retrospective study is to compare the long-term recurrence rate of the benign oral squamous papilloma (OSP) with different laser-assisted treatments and conventional procedures (use of scalpels) aiming to suggest the most ...
