SOIL CO2 FLUX MEASUREMENTS IN VINEYARD ECOSYSTEM

Acta Horticulturae, 2004
Many recent studies on climate change indicate the soil as a major source for atmospheric CO2. Oxidation of soil organic matter and the respiration of plant roots produce the soil CO2 and the efflux rate to the atmosphere depends on the concentration gradient and aerodynamic resistance.

History of Measuring O2 and CO2 Responses

2008
Quantitative analysis of the chemical interactions of CO2 and O2 on ventilation from early 20th century to the present start with the amazingly steep CO2 response found by Haldane and his pupils, proceed through discovery of the prime role of the H+ ion and the discovery of carotid body chemoreception.

Errors in measurements of CO2 with the use of drying agents

Clinica Chimica Acta, 1986
To assess the errors in measurements of CO2 concentration that arise from the widespread use of drying agents in clinical and physiological studies, continuous measurements of CO2 concentration were made with an infra-red analyser before and after standard gas mixtures were passed through a tube containing one of several drying agents: calcium chloride;

Measuring CO2 in Coalbed Reservoirs

Rocky Mountain Oil & Gas Technology Symposium, 2007
Abstract Carbon Dioxide in aqueous coal reservoirs has import implications for a number of different applications. Detection and quantification of CO2 for sequestration, enhanced recovery of methane and/or naturally occurring CO2 can give valuable information that affects engineering decisions.

A simple technique for measuring alveolar CO2 in infants

Journal of Applied Physiology, 1978
We designed a system consisting of a nostril adapter and a catheter for measurement of end-tidal (–alveolar”) CO2 in small infants using the Beckman LB-1 analyzer. Using this system, we obtained a capillary-“alveolar” PCO2 difference (PaCO2-PACO2) of 2.4 Torr in 19 normal term infants, 3.5 Torr in 12 preterm infants who had recovered from respiratory ...

Measurement on CO2 solution density by optical technology

Journal of Visualization, 2003
The optical technology based on Mach-Zehnder interferometry was successfully applied to a high-pressure liquid CO_2 and water system to measure CO_2 solution density. Experiments were carried out at a pressure range of from 5.0 to 12.5 MPa, temperatures from 273.25 to 284.15 K, and CO_2 mass fraction in solution up to 0.061.

Hyperpolarizability dispersion measured for CO2

The Journal of Chemical Physics, 1986
The frequency dependence of the second hyperpolarizability (γ) of CO2 has been measured in the visible (488<λ<693 nm) by means of gas phase electric-field-induced second-harmonic generation (ESHG). Comparison of these results with the results for several other third-order nonlinear optical processes suggests that there are significant ...

Supercritical pressure–density–temperature measurements on CO2–N2, CO2–O2 and CO2–Ar binary mixtures

The Journal of Supercritical Fluids, 2012
Abstract This paper presents new supercritical volumetric measurements on three binary mixtures mainly composed of carbon dioxide. The interest in the tested mixtures derives primarily from carbon capture and storage applications. In particular, CO2-rich streams with low amounts of nitrogen, oxygen and argon are representative of the flows that are ...
