Identifying transcription factors controlling the basal expression of human MRP4 highlights a substantial role for Sp1

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The MRP4 transporter exports several drugs and signaling molecules. Here, we identified key promoter elements regulating basal MRP4 expression. Using reporter assays, we defined a conserved region with essential Sp1 and contributory Ets sites, which controlled basal MRP4 expression.

The impact of long-term elevated CO2 on C and N retention in stable SOM pools [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Elevated atmospheric CO2 frequently increases plant production and concomitant soil C inputs, which may cause additional soil C sequestration. However, whether the increase in plant production and additional soil C sequestration under elevated CO2 can be

Hyperosmotic stress‐induced redistribution of pre‐mRNA cleavage factor I subunits is associated with shifts in alternative polyadenylation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Hyperosmotic stress triggers the relocation of the CFIm complex from the nucleus to the cytoplasm. This shift creates a nuclear ‘stoichiometric bottleneck’, limiting CFIm availability for mRNA processing. Consequently, specific mRNAs like NUDT21 and DICER1 undergo targeted 3′UTR shortening, demonstrating how spatial protein dynamics drive rapid ...

Geological and Mineralogical Sequestration of CO2 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
The rapid increasing of concentrations of anthropologically generated greenhouse gases (primarily CO2) in the atmosphere is responsible for global warming and ocean acidification.

Potential evaluation and favorable zone optimization of CO2 geological sequestration in deep coal reservoirs

open access: yesScientific Reports
CO2 geological sequestration in deep, unmineable coal seams is a key technology for carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS). This study focuses on the No. 3 major high-rank coal reservoir in the southern Qinshui Basin, utilizing high-pressure and

Natural carbonation of unground steelmaking slag for assessment of direct carbon sequestration potential during outdoor storage

open access: yesJournal of CO2 Utilization
CO2 sequestration using steelmaking slag remains challenging for practical applications: one of the main barriers is the energy and costs required for accelerated carbonation. In Japan, steelmaking slag is often stored in outdoor yards for several months,

Effects of IGFBP4 deficiency on human preadipocyte proliferation and differentiation through the IGF1R/AKT pathway

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
IGFBP4 knockdown (KD) impairs preadipocyte proliferation and is associated with IGF1R protein downregulation and attenuated AKT phosphorylation. The mechanisms by which IGFBP4 KD influences the IGF1R/AKT signaling pathway involve newly synthesized proteins and lysosomal degradation pathways. Created in BioRender.
