The changing paradigm in CO2 utilization

open access: yesJournal of CO2 Utilization, 2013
Abstract CO2 is today at the centre of the attention of scientists and technologists for its potential as source of carbon in the synthesis of chemicals and fuels. The actual utilization of CO2 although significant for the chemical industry (ca. 200 Mt/y) represents a minor fraction of the anthropogenic emission (32,000 Mt/y).

Opportunities and challenges in CO2 utilization

Journal of Environmental Sciences, 2022
CO2 utilizations are essential to curbing the greenhouse gas effect and managing the environmental pollutant in an energy-efficient and economically-sound manner. This paper seeks to critically analyze these technologies in the context of each other and highlight the most important utilization avenues available thus far.

Immobilization of carbonic anhydrase for CO2 capture and utilization

Applied Microbiology and Biotechnology, 2022
Carbonic anhydrase (CA) is an excellent candidate for novel biocatalytic processes based on the capture and utilization of CO2. The setup of efficient methods for enzyme immobilization makes CA utilization in continuous bioreactors increasingly attractive and opens up new opportunities for the industrial use of CA.

CO2 Utilization

2017
Global warming resulting from the emission of greenhouse gases has received widespread environment and energy attention in the recent years. Among these greenhouse gases, CO2 contributes over 60% to global warming due to its huge emission amount over 30 Gt CO2 a year.

Laparoscopic salpingostomy utilizing the CO2 laser

Fertility and Sterility, 1984
A new technique for performing a terminal salpingostomy using the CO2 laser via laparoscopy has been developed. This operative procedure is described, and the clinical results of the first 22 patients are reported. A hysterosalpingogram-documented tubal patency rate of 75% was noted 2 months postoperatively.
