Noncommutative smoothness and coadjoint orbits

open access: yesJournal of Algebra, 2002
Raf Bocklandt and the author have proved in math.AG/0010030 that certain quotient varieties of representations of deformed preprojective algebras are coadjoint orbits for the necklace Lie algebra of the corresponding quiver. A conjectural ringtheoretical explanation of these results was given in terms of noncommutative smoothness in the sense of C ...

Poisson structures transverse to coadjoint orbits

open access: yesBulletin des Sciences Mathématiques, 2002
The authors prove a conjecture by \textit{P. Damianou} [ibid. 120, No. 2, 195--214 (1996; Zbl 0853.58048)], that the transverse Poisson structure to a coadjoint orbit of a semisimple, real, Lie algebra is polynomial. The precise statement is as follows. Let \(\mathfrak{g}\) be a semisimple, real, Lie algebra.

Complexity measures in QFT and constrained geometric actions

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2021
We study the conditions under which, given a generic quantum system, complexity metrics provide actual lower bounds to the circuit complexity associated to a set of quantum gates.

Which singular tangent bundles are isomorphic?

open access: yesJournal of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 113, Issue 5, May 2026.
Abstract Logarithmic and b$ b$‐tangent bundles provide a versatile framework for addressing singularities in geometry. Introduced by Deligne and Melrose, these modified bundles resolve singularities by reframing singular vector fields as well‐behaved sections of these singular bundles.

Cohomological splitting of coadjoint orbits

open access: yesArchiv der Mathematik, 2004
The rational cohomology of a coadjoint orbit ${\cal O}$ is expressed as tensor product of the cohomology of other coadjoint orbits ${\cal O}_k$, with $ \hbox{dim} {\cal O}_k< \hbox{dim} {\cal O}$.

THE EXPLICIT FORMULAS OF PARAMETRIZATION OF COADJOINT ORBITS OF THE HEISENBERG LIE GROUP

open access: yesBarekeng
This research focuses on the Heisenberg Lie group. The aim is to determine the coadjoint orbits and their parametrizations. The method used in this research involves constructing the parametrization of coadjoint orbit for Heisenberg Lie group ...

A Miyaoka–Yau inequality for hyperplane arrangements in CPn$\mathbb {CP}^n$

open access: yesJournal of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 113, Issue 4, April 2026.
Abstract Let H$\mathcal {H}$ be a hyperplane arrangement in CPn$\mathbb {CP}^n$. We define a quadratic form Q$Q$ on RH$\mathbb {R}^{\mathcal {H}}$ that is entirely determined by the intersection poset of H$\mathcal {H}$. Using the Bogomolov–Gieseker inequality for parabolic bundles, we show that if a∈RH$\mathbf {a}\in \mathbb {R}^{\mathcal {H}}$ is ...

Coadjoint orbit action of Virasoro group and two-dimensional quantum gravity dual to SYK/tensor models

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2017
The Nambu-Goldstone (NG) bosons of the SYK model are described by a coset space Diff/SL(2, ℝ), where Diff, or Virasoro group, is the group of diffeomorphisms of the time coordinate valued on the real line or a circle. It is known that the coadjoint orbit

Theta divisors and permutohedra

open access: yesJournal of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 113, Issue 1, January 2026.
Abstract We establish an intriguing relation of the smooth theta divisor Θn$\Theta ^n$ with permutohedron Πn$\Pi ^n$ and the corresponding toric variety XΠn$X_\Pi ^n$. In particular, we show that the generalised Todd genus of the theta divisor Θn$\Theta ^n$ coincides with h$h$‐polynomial of permutohedron Πn$\Pi ^n$ and thus is different from the same ...
