RGD delivery of truncated coagulase to tumor vasculature affords local thrombotic activity to induce infarction of tumors in mice

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2017
Induction of thrombosis in tumor vasculature represents an appealing strategy for combating cancer. Herein, we combined unique intrinsic coagulation properties of staphylocoagulase with new acquired functional potentials introduced by genetic engineering,

Necrotizing Pneumonia Caused by PVL‐Negative Methicillin‐Susceptible Staphylococcus aureus Complicated by Refractory Pneumothorax: A Case Report

open access: yesRespirology Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 1, January 2026.
Here we report a case of PVL‐negative MSSA necrotizing pneumonia in a previously healthy man that rapidly progressed to cavitary lesions and refractory pneumothorax. Despite its improvement after clindamycin‐based therapy, the patient experienced recurrent pneumothorax and chronic respiratory failure.

Coagulase gene polymorphism of Staphylococcus aureus isolates: A study on dairy food products and other foods in Tehran, Iran

open access: yesFood Science and Human Wellness, 2016
Coagulase is considered as a major determinant factor for the identification of Staphylococcus aureus strains. The 3′-end coding region of the coagulase (coa) gene contains a series of 81-bp tandem repeats, which differ in the number and location of ...
