A Coal-Fired Power Plant With Zero Atmospheric Emissions

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Systems, 2003
This paper presents the thermodynamic analysis of a coal-based zero-atmospheric emissions electric power plant. The approach involves an oxygen-blown coal gasification unit. The resulting synthetic gas (syngas) is combusted with oxygen in a gas generator to produce the working fluid for the turbines.

A Global Methane Observation System to Reduce Uncertainty for Anthropogenic and Natural Sources and Sinks for Detecting and Attributing Climate Feedbacks

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Conceptual illustration of a Global Ecosystem Methane Observing System (GEM‐OS) integrating satellites, aircraft, atmospheric networks, and ecosystem measurements to quantify methane emissions from anthropogenic and natural sources. The multi‐scale observing framework improves source attribution, reduces uncertainty in regional methane budgets, and ...

Demonstration of high biomass ratio co-firing at existing coal fired boiler

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2017
There is a CO2 emission reduction method of burning woody biomass and coal, as a technical method to reduce the CO2 emission of the coal fired power plant. But a co-firing woody biomass ratio of the existing coal fired power plants gives only the 2-3% co-

Unveiling Mechanisms of SEI Formation and Sodium Loss in Sodium Batteries via Interface Reactor Sampling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An “Interface Reactor” strategy boosts simulation stability by 2–3 orders of magnitude, enabling stable 100 ns molecular dynamics of electrode‐electrolyte interfaces. Distinct SEI formation mechanisms are revealed: mixed co‐formation in carbonates versus surface‐energy‐controlled NaF crystallization in ethers. Metadynamics simulations further elucidate

The Experimental Evaluation of Energy Efficiency and Carbonic Emission Rates for All Stable Loads of Larger-Scale (+600 MW) Coal-Fired Power Generation Units in Vietnam

open access: yesEnergies, 2022
Performance guarantees and tests of thermal power plants are usually carried out at 100% rate output capacity. However, fossil-fired power plants have decreased full load hours, affecting energy efficiency, and are subjected to frequent load changes ...

Photo‐Gated Corona Microfluidics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Photo‐gated corona microfluidics decouples optical programming from electric‐field actuation to enable reconfigurable manipulation on open, electrode‐pattern‐free surfaces. Near‐infrared irradiation locally melts paraffin, creating a reversible charge‐relaxation pathway that reconstructs the electric field.

Hydrogen‐Bond Enabled Phosphite Based Intrinsic Flame‐Retardant Solid‐Solid Phase Change Materials Using Catalyst/Solvent‐Free Multi‐Component Reaction for Battery Thermal Management

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The phosphite group endows intrinsic flame retardancy, while the P = O bond enhances intermolecular interactions to realize solid‐solid phase transition. Battery thermal management tests show the materials extend the safe working time of lithium‐ion batteries by 200%. Cone calorimeter tests indicate a 14s delay in ignition time, and reductions of 37.6%,
