Mullite production by valorization of a hydrodesulphurization catalyst waste

open access: yesJournal of the American Ceramic Society, Volume 109, Issue 1, January 2026.
Due to its high alumina and silica content, Ni–Mo catalyst waste is a suitable, amorphous raw material for producing aluminosilicate phases. Thermal treatment of the waste at 1200°C for 30 min yields a material containing 50 wt.% mullite and exhibiting 96% overall crystallinity. The addition of amorphous silica significantly enhances mullite formation:

Research on Mechanical Response Mechanisms of Interlayer Rock Strata in Closely Spaced Coal Seam Mining

open access: yesAdvances in Civil Engineering, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
Closely spaced coal seams holds significant importance in global energy development, as the mechanical response mechanism of interlayer rock strata directly governs roadway deformation and stress concentration levels. This study investigates the impact of bearing structures within interlayer strata on the stability of surrounding rock during closely ...

Lanthanide Sulfate Recovery by Synergistic Dimethyl Ether and Na2SO4 Fractional Crystallization

open access: yesChemSusChem, Volume 18, Issue 24, December 13, 2025.
This work demonstrates synergistic lanthanide salt recovery from an aqueous magnet leachate to single ppm concentrations using Na2SO4 combined with dimethyl ether crystallization. This waste valorization process minimizes chemicals consumed and waste generated while maximizing the recovery of a critical material product. Lanthanides (Lns) are important
