Propagation Mechanism of Coal Rock Fracture under Gas Pressure

Advanced Materials Research, 2011
The failure of coal rock under gas pressure and in-situ stress is an inevitable stage of coal and gas outburst. The propagation mechanism of coal rock fracture under gas pressure is studied in this paper using fracture mechanics. The expression of normal stress and shear stress is given first with the simplification that the fracture is elliptical ...

The Research on Rheology Mechanism of Coal-rock Containing Gas

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2008
Rheology mechanism is studied on the whole rheology process of coal‐rock containing gas using rock rheology apparatus in triaxial compression. Experiment shows that there are 3 typical creeping stages including instantaneous creeping stage I, stable development of deformation stage II and accelerated deformation to failure stage III.

Experimental test and particle mechanical analysis of gas adsorption-induced coal rock degradation

Powder Technology, 2020
Abstract In order to more accurately analyze the coal rock degradation arising from gas adsorption, a new method was proposed based on particle discrete element theory. The degradation test and numerical simulation were used to verify the applicability of this method.

Study on Mechanical and Permeability Characteristics of Containing Gas Coal-Rock Under Conventional Triaxial Compression

Geotechnical and Geological Engineering, 2021
In this paper, the mechanical and permeability experiments of containing-gas raw coal and sandstone samples under conventional triaxial compression were carried out by using the thermal fluid solid coupling triaxial servo seepage experimental device. The results show that: the peak strength of containing-gas coal and rock increases linearly with the ...

Influence of fracture structure on gas flow characteristics in fractured coal rock mass

Physics of Fluids
To establish a permeability prediction model applicable to deep coal seam gas drainage engineering and accurately describe the fracture structure characteristics of fractured coal rock bodies and assess the impact of different fracture parameters on gas permeability characteristics, three-dimensional (3D) reconstruction and quantitative ...

Mechanical properties and permeability evolution in gas-bearing coal–rock combination body under triaxial conditions

Environmental Earth Sciences, 2017
With the development of deep mining in recent years, coal and gas compound dynamic disasters become increasingly serious. In this study, uniaxial and triaxial compression tests were conducted on gas-bearing coals, coal–sandstone combined bodies and coal–mudstone combined bodies and the permeabilities in the triaxial tests were measured simultaneously ...
