Solid State Polymerization on Poly(Lactic Acid)‐Based Microcapsules: Process Parameters Adjustment in Order to Design Coumarin‐6 Encapsulation System

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, EarlyView.
This work emphasizes solid state polymerization (SSP) as a modification tool for altering the properties of PLA microcapsules (MCs). Therefore, the SSP process is optimized in order to avoid particle aggregation, and its kinetics is studied. Also, loaded MCs are subjected to SSP, resulting in changing release rate.

Advancing Lignin Valorization: Microwave‐Assisted Acetylation and Natural Fiber Reinforcement for Sustainable Biocomposites

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, EarlyView.
Development of a fiber‐reinforced biocomposite from regenerated cellulose fibers. The process involves fiber mat production, integration with a 3D‐printed matrix, compression molding, and subsequent mechanical and thermal characterization of the resulting sustainable composite material.

Self‐Crosslinkable Bacterial Cellulose/Chitosan/Pectin Injectable Hydrogels: Design, Characterization and Preliminary Biological Performance

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, EarlyView.
Bio‐injectable hydrogel. ABSTRACT In this study, multifunctional polysaccharide‐based injectable hydrogels were developed using chitosan (CS) and dialdehyde bacterial cellulose (D‐BC), interpenetrated with pectin (PT). The hydrogels exhibited rapid gelation, good water retention, and injectability under physiological conditions.

Dental fluorosis in the European roe deer (Capreolus capreolus): A review of the pathological changes in the enamel of fluorotic cheek teeth and the abnormal pattern of dental wear in affected dentitions

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract This article reviews the pathological changes in the enamel of permanent mandibular cheek teeth and their sequelae in European roe deer from regions polluted by anthropogenic fluoride emissions. The primary (developmental) changes of fluorotic roe deer enamel are hypomineralization and microstructural aberrations, including enamel hypoplasia ...
