Anomalous Hall conductivity and electronic structures of Si-substituted Mn$_{2}$CoAl epitaxial films [PDF]

open access: yesPhys. Rev. B 97, 054427 (2018), 2017
We study anomalous Hall conductivity ($\sigma$$_{\rm AHC}$) and electronic band structures of Si-substituted Mn$_{2}$CoAl (Mn$_{2}$CoAl$_{1-x}$Si$_{x}$). First-principles calculations reveal that the electronic band structure is like a spin-gapless system even after substituting a quaternary element of Si for Al up to $x = $0.2 in Mn$_{2}$CoAl$_{1-x ...

Bioelectrochemical Enhancement of Biogenic Methane Conversion of Coal

open access: yesEnergies, 2018
This study demonstrated the enhancement of biogenic coal conversion to methane in a bioelectrochemical anaerobic reactor with polarized electrodes. The electrode with 1.0 V polarization increased the methane yield of coal to 52.5 mL/g lignite, which is ...

Potential usage of fly and bottom ash from thermal power plant ”Nikola Tesla” landfill, Serbia [PDF]

open access: yesHemijska Industrija, 2012
In Serbia, the ash from power plants has long been labelled as hazardous waste. With the adoption of the appropriate legislation this ash became secondary raw material with the potential usage.

Response characteristics of mining-induced overburden strata under different degrees of regional fracturing on the roof

open access: yesMeitan xuebao
To obtain the activity patterns and response characteristics of the overburden strata under different fracturing degrees of the roof, and thereby provide a reference for preventing and controlling roof-dominated rock burst through regional fracturing ...

Methane Emissions from Super-emitting Coal Mines in Australia quantified using TROPOMI Satellite Observations [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
Two years of satellite observations were used to quantify methane emission from coal mines in Queensland, the largest coal-producing state in Australia. The six analyzed surface and underground coal mines are estimated to emit 570+/-98 Gg a-1 in 2018-2019.

High Pressure Oxydesulphurisation of Coal Using KMnO4—Effect of Coal Slurry Concentration, pH and Alkali

open access: yesEnergies, 2016
A high pressure oxydesulphurisation technique was investigated to reduce sulphur content, especially at ambient temperature. Prince of Wales coal was chosen for this study.

Relationships among coking coals and related cokes characteristics: a statistical evaluation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
From 61 coking coals, 36 coal blends were prepared. Using a pilot coke oven, cokes were prepared from both 61 coking coals (Type I cokes) and 36 coal blends (Type II cokes). Coals were characterized by 14 coal characteristics and cokes by Coke Reactivity

Stable Dispersion of Coal Fines during Hydraulic Fracturing Flowback in Coal Seam Gas Reservoirs An Experimental Study [PDF]

open access: yesEnergy & Fuels 2020 34 (5), 5566-5577, 2020
In subterranean coal seam gas CSG reservoirs, massive amounts of small-sized coal fines are released during the production and development stages, especially during hydraulic fracturing stimulation. These coal fines inevitably cause mechanical pump failure and permeability damage due to aggregation and subsequent pore throat blockage.
