Self‐Reconstruction of Dual‐Morphology Copper‐Iron Selenides for Cost‐Effective Oxygen Evolution Toward Industrial Alkaline Water Splitting

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Departing from conventional Ni/Co‐based catalysts, this work presents a Ni/Co‐free CuFe–Se/CFF electrocatalyst with nanoblock–nanorod morphology. It delivers 1000 mA cm−2 at 330 mV overpotential and 620 h stability for the oxygen evolution reaction (OER).

Non‐PFAS‐Based Magnetic Polymer Sorbents for Efficient Removal of Perfluorinated Compounds from Landfill Leachate

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Magnetic polymer sorbents featuring non‐per‐ and polyfluoroalkyl substances (non‐PFAS)‐based fluorinated and cationic groups enable selective and efficient removal of multiple PFAS from complex landfill leachate. By optimizing functional group balance and polymer design, the sorbents achieve >90% removal, excellent reusability, and outperform ...

Effect of air pollution controls on black smoke and sulfur dioxide concentrations across Ireland [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
During the 1980s Ireland experienced severe pollution episodes, principally because of domestic coal burning. In 1990, the Irish government introduced a ban on the marketing, sale, and distribution of coal in Dublin. They extended the ban to Cork in 1995

The mechanism of char ignition in fluidized bed combustors [PDF]

open access: yes, 1987
Knowledge about ignition processes of coal in fluidized beds is of importance for the start-up and dynamic control of these combustors. Initial experiments in a transparent fluidized bed scale model showed the existence of a considerable induction period
