A review of coal gangue identification research—application to China’s top coal release process

Environmental Science and Pollution Research, 2022
Top coal caving is a process for the rational extraction of large amounts of coal resources. However, this process readily causes release of excessive amounts of gangue during the coal release process. The conventional technique, which involves visual inspection, is not only labor-intensive but also can introduce inaccuracies.

Coal and gangue identification method based on the intensity image of lidar and DenseNet

Applied Optics, 2021
Coal and gangue (rock) identification is the essential process in a coal preparation plant. In an actual coal preparation plant, the existing classification methods have many disadvantages in safety and identification rate. We utilized the echo intensity image (EII) of lidar for coal and gangue identification for the first time, to ...

Research on a Coal Gangue Identification Device

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2013
The paper designed a coal gangue identification device. It firstly proposed to use the guide groove to guide, grayscale sensor to recognize and the corresponding mechanical actuators to realize automatic separation of coal and waste rocks. Compared with other separation device, it firstly put forward solutions to realize the linear arrangement of ...

Identification and Activation of Coal Gangue and Performance of Limestone Calcined Gangue Cement

2020
Gangue, a typical waste associated with the coal mining process in northern China, was characterized before and after thermal treatment by XRF, XRD, TGA-DSC, and SEM. The pozzolanic reactivity of calcined gangue with different calcined temperature was tested by standard mortar strength and R3 calorimetry test.
