Bridging the Late Antique Gap in Northwest Arabia: New Archaeological Evidence on the Occupation of Wādī al‐Qurā (al‐ʿUlā [AlUla], Saudi Arabia) Between the Third and Seventh Centuries CE

open access: yesArabian Archaeology and Epigraphy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In 2019, the Dadan Archaeological Project (CNRS/RCU/AFALULA) identified a Late Antique village 1 km south of ancient Dadan in the al‐ʿUlā valley (northwest Saudi Arabia). ROCK BUMP – THE REASON OF METHANE OUT BURST IN THE COAL MINE?

open access: yesBulletin of the Kamchatka Regional Association «Educational-Scientific Center». Physical & Mathematical Sciences, 2015
The proposed model presents a rock bump (a technogeneous earthquake) as a shock wave emergence on the inside wall of a mine. In such a case, an unloading, tensile wave is generated which moves in the opposite (into the wall) direction. A shock wave is accompanied by medium motion in the direction of shock wave propagation with the velocity ...

Who Makes the Far Right? Exploring Membership Application Data of the National Front of Australia

open access: yesAustralian Journal of Politics &History, EarlyView.
This paper addresses a problem for scholars examining the question of who supports far right political parties or movements. Due to the semi‐clandestine or oppositional nature of far right groups, historians, as well as those in adjacent disciplines, have often been unable to gain access to sufficient records or data to conduct analysis of who supports

Classification and instability mechanism of anchored “beam-arch” composite structure in rock burst roadways with top-coal [PDF]

open access: yes
The rock burst frequently occurs in the roadways with top coal, and the roof disasters are particularly severe under dynamic stress in China. In order to explore the classification and instability mechanisms of anchoring structures in the roadways with ...

Extreme weather and economic crisis in the 1430s in England, and the implications for tenurial change

open access: yesThe Economic History Review, EarlyView.
Abstract The 1430s were characterized by extreme weather conditions, food and fodder shortages, and high mortalities among animals and humans, although the severity of events and their consequences in England have received limited attention. The economic downturn and the depressed customary land market in this decade marked the beginning of the Great ...

Risk assessment of coal seam floor water burst based on improved vulnerability index method

open access: yesMeikuang Anquan
The coal seam floor water burst has an inevitable impact on the safety production of coal mines. To prevent the occurrence of coal seam floor water burst in advance, effective risk assessment of coal seam floor water burst before mining can provide ...

Mechanical properties and energy evolutions of burst-prone coal samples with holes and fillings

open access: yesInternational Journal of Coal Science & Technology
During the mining process of impact-prone coal seams, drilling pressure relief can reduce the impact propensity of the coal seam, but it also reduces the integrity and strength of the coal mass at the side of the roadway.
