Fire and Materials, 2017
SummaryFlash fires and explosions in areas containing an enriched combustible dust atmosphere are a major safety concern in industrial processing. An experimental study was conducted to analyse the effects of atmospheric coal dust particle sizes and concentrations on the minimum auto‐ignition temperature (MAIT) of a dust cloud.

Dust concentrations around coal stockpiles
Science of The Total Environment, 1980Abstract One of the sources of airborne dust from operations at coal terminals is wind erosion of the stockpiles. The condition of the stockpile, whether it is being worked (a live stockpile) or at rest (dead storage), is of prime importance. A further important set of variables is formed by the meteorological conditions.

Effect of Coal Mine Health and Safety Act on Respirable Dust Concentrations in Coal Mines
American Industrial Hygiene Association Journal, 1972Under the Federal Coal Mine Health and Safety Act of 1969 the operators of coal mines are required (effective June 30, 1970) to maintain the average concentration of respirahle dust in active workings at or helow 3.0 mg/m.3 The standard is reduced to 2.0 mg/m3 after December 30, 1972.

Prediction of Respirable Dust Concentration in Coal Mine Based on Neural Network
2020 IEEE Conference on Telecommunications, Optics and Computer Science (TOCS), 2020Pneumoconiosis is the most important occupational disease in China, and respiratory respirable dust is the main cause of pneumoconiosis. It can effectively reduce the incidence of pneumoconiosis by improving the monitoring and supervision level of respiratory dust concentration in the workplace.

Concentrations of atmospheric SO2, NO2 and dust in the lublin coal basin area
Science of The Total Environment, 1990Abstract This paper presents concentrations of SO 2 , NO 2 and total suspended particulates (TSP) in the atmosphere as well as the quantity of dustfall. Air samples were collected periodically over a 1-year period at eight monitoring stations situated in an area of 8 × 8 km 2 , located in the Central Coal Region area of the Lublin Coal Basin.

Limiting oxygen concentration for coal dusts for explosion hazard analysis and safety
Journal of Loss Prevention in the Process Industries, 2013Abstract Investigation of explosion characteristics of coal dust was undertaken as a part of regular research program at CSIR-CBRI, Roorkee, India, for designing explosion safety measures for coal dust handling installations. This paper presents results of detailed experimental work on determination of Limiting Oxygen Concentration (LOC) and ...

High Dust Concentration ESP for Coal-fired Boiler of 300 MW Generator
2009In the dry Flue Gas Desulphurization(FGD) system, ESP plays an important role; one of its outstanding characteristics is that it can treat with high dust concentration flue gas. Compared with conventional ESP equipped for coal-fired boilers, the successful application of this kind of ESP is a great breakthrough.
