Paper is concerning floatability of black coal from Mine Lazy by means of Flotalex, Montanol and PE2 collectors. The goal of the work was verification of floatability of mentioned coal as well as flotation collectors selectivity. The investigation was carried out on class – 0, 5 mm in a column flotation.

Coal flotation to satisfy coal quality
Filtration + Separation, 2017During the coal flotation process, high ash coal fines are carried into foam, although process optimization can reduce ash content. This paper suggests an alternative method for coal flotation which has a significant effect on quality, coal production processes and plant design.

Desulfurization of coal by microbial column flotation
Biotechnology and Bioengineering, 1994AbstractTwenty‐three strains capable of oxidizing iron were isolated from coal and ore storage sites as well as coal and ore mines, volcanic areas, and hot spring. Four strains were found to have high iron‐oxidizing activity. One strain (T‐4) was selected for this experiment since the strain showed the fastest leaching rate of iron and sulfate from ...

Effect of flotation promoter on the rate of coal slime flotation
Journal of Mining Science, 2014The new flotation promoter (PGS) was synthesized with natural cottonseed oil and industrial by-products, and the new emulsified flotation agent (ZFC) for coal was prepared by 3% PGS promoter, 27% diesel oil and 70% water. The ZFC and diesel oil were used as collector to do the flotation rate experiments with two 1/3 coking coal samples, and first-level

Effect of Preconditioning on the Flotation of Coal
Chemical Engineering Communications, 2005ABSTRACT Two preconditioning methods, namely, ultrasonication and high-intensity conditioning in an agitated vessel, were compared as a means for improving the flotation of oxidized coal. The use of preconditioning by ultrasound or high-intensity conditioning significantly improved the flotation of the oxidized coal in batch-type laboratory tests ...

Kinetics and mechanism of coal flotation
Colloid & Polymer Science, 2002The flotation kinetics of coarse coal particles was studied in a modified version of the Hallimond tube at 25 °C using nitrogen as the carrier gas, in the pH range 2–12. The kinetics was followed by measuring the volume of the particles accumulated in the collector tube as a function of time.

Effect of flotation reagent adsorption by different ultra-fine coal particles on coal flotation
International Journal of Mineral Processing, 2015Abstract The impact of ultra-fine coal particles on the flotation of coarse coal particles is investigated in this work. Flotation experiments of three coal samples were conducted. The results showed that the recovery of coarse coal particles (> 74 μm) decreases when low-ash ultra-fine coal particles are added into coal samples, whereas the addition ...

An evaluation of the flotation response of coals
International Journal of Mineral Processing, 1989Abstract The general criteria which must be satisfied by any procedure intended to characterise the fundamental response of a coal to flotation are reviewed. Of the procedures currently advocated, only two, release analysis and the “tree” procedure, satisfy all these criteria.

Coal flotation as a rate process
Mining, Metallurgy & Exploration, 1985The goal of this study is to evaluate the coal flotation process and the interaction of the chemical (reagent) and hydrodynamic (machine, operational) variables as they affect yield, flotation of various sized particles, and sulfur and ash rejection. Coal flotation is found to follow a first order process with the coal floating much faster than either ...
