Influence of Coal Gangue Volume Mixing Ratio on the System Contact Response When Multiple Coal Gangue Particles Impacting the Metal Plate and the Study of Coal Gangue Mixing Ratio Recognition Based on the Metal Plate Contact Response and the Multi-Information Fusion

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
In order to clearly grasp the influence rules of the coal gangue volume mixture ratio on the system contact response, and finally realize the coal gangue mixing ratio recognition according to the contact response differences, on the basis of the Hertz ...

3D thermal mapping of smoldering coal gangue pile fires using airborne thermal infrared data

open access: yesCase Studies in Thermal Engineering, 2023
Smoldering coal gangue pile fires pollute the air, soil and groundwater severely. Physical and chemical explosions between water and fiery coal gangue may occur, resulting in a large number of casualties.

Numerical Simulation Study on Optimization of Horizontal Sublevel Top‐Coal Caving Mining Technique for Steeply Inclined Extra‐Thick Coal Seam

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
As the sublevel height increases, the top‐coal recovery amount gradually increases, but both the top‐coal recovery rate and the thickened top‐coal recovery rate show a downward trend, and the decline in the top‐coal recovery rate is gradually increasing. The comparison indicates that the optimal sublevel height is 20 m.

Research and application of intelligent caving technology in fully mechanized working face

open access: yesGong-kuang zidonghua, 2021
The traditional top coal caving control mainly relies on manual coal caving control, which uses single-round of sequential coal caving. The working face equipped with electro-hydraulic control system mainly adopts the two-round sequential coal caving ...

Moss Biocrusts Regulate Heavy Metal Speciation and Mobility in Coal Mine Soils

open access: yesLand Degradation &Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT On a global scale, coal mining activities often lead to heavy metal(loid) contamination in soils of mine dump sites, posing serious ecological risks. As ecosystem “engineers,” biological soil crusts (biocrusts)—especially moss crust—have shown great potential in remediating heavy metal‐polluted soils, but their roles remain underexplored.

Ecological Restoration of Degraded Mining Soils Through Key‐Layer Construction Using Industrial By‐Products: A Comprehensive Analysis of Soil Physics, Microbiology, and Maize Yield

open access: yesLand Degradation &Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Coal mining severely degrades soil profiles and ecosystem functions, highlighting the need for effective reclamation. Reconstructing soil profiles with industrial solid wastes offers a promising waste‐to‐resource approach, but the ecological effects of different engineered key‐layer materials remain unclear.

Spectroscopy identification method and system for coal and gangue based on multilocation feature fusion

open access: yesInternational Journal of Coal Preparation and Utilization, 2023
Visible and near-infrared (VIS-NIR) spectral technology is fast, accurate, and non-destructive, which meets the requirements of the separation of coal and gangue. However, the performance of the classification models established by the spectra collected according to the usual single-location collection methods was unsatisfactory.

Barriers to Steel Decarbonization

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
Main identified barriers to steel decarbonization Carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions are a leading contributor to global climate change, necessitating urgent mitigation strategies. While various metrics—such as total national emissions, per‐capita output, and historical contributions—define responsibility, determining accountability remains complex ...
