Coal gasification and occupational health
American Industrial Hygiene Association Journal, 1978Identification and prevention of health effects due to occupational exposures in coal gasification processes requires a basic knowledge of the technological process by which gasification proceeds. This paper presents an overview of the technology and a rational approach to health hazard identification based upon the concept of the unit operation ...

AbstractUnderground coal gasification (UCG) is a method whereby the mining and conversion of coal are accomplished in a single step. Many field tests of UCG have been operated worldwide since the 1930's with varying degrees of success; based on this experience (especially in the USSR and United States), a field design which is applicable to a wide ...

Abstract A preliminary evaluation of the technical and economic feasibility of solar coal gasification has been performed. The analysis indicates that the medium-Btu product gas from a solar coal-gasification plant would not only be less expensive than that from a Lurgi coal-gasification plant but also would need considerably less coal to produce the

This work reports on a kinetic study on the gasification of Brazilian mineral coal with steam using a thermobalance. The coal is a high ash content (>50 wt %) subbituminous, run of mine coal (Charqueadas). Isothermal runs were made at temperatures between 800 and 1000/degree/C and at atmospheric pressure, using -14 +20 mesh Tyler size particles.

Gasification of an Indonesian subbituminous coal in a pilot-scale coal gasification system
Korean Journal of Chemical Engineering, 2007Indonesian Roto Middle subbituminous coal was gasified in a pilot-scale dry-feeding gasification system and the produced syngas was purified with hot gas filtering and by low temperature desulfurization to the quality that can be utilized as a feedstock for chemical conversion.
