Research progress on the preparation of functional micro/nano materials from coal gasification slag

open access: yes工程科学学报
The energy structure, characterized by abundant coal, limited oil, and gas shortages, contributes to China’s prevalent coal consumption. In the context of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality, coal combustion exacerbates environmental pollution ...

Study of simulated crude oil wastewater for flotation separation of coal gasification slag

open access: yesMeitan xuebao
Coal gasification slag is a typical coal-based solid waste, and the separation of residual unburned carbon and ash components in coal gasification slag is an important guarantee for its resourceful and high-value utilization.

Exergy‐Based Simulation and Optimization of Multiagent MSW Gasification for Sustainable Energy Recovery Using Aspen Plus

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Thermochemical gasification is one of the most efficient methods for producing solid waste synthesis gas. Therefore, to predict and analyze the process of gasification of municipal solid waste (MSW) in a downdraft fixed‐bed gasification reactor with a thermal capacity of 2.1 kW, a comprehensive numerical modeling approach based on Gibbs free ...

The Application of Hydrochar Composite Briquettes for Sustainable Slag Foaming in the Electric Arc Furnace Process

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
Hydrochar‐mill‐scale briquettes with varying C/O molar ratios (0.07–0.90) have been tested at 1650 °C to evaluate their slag foaming performance for electric arc furnace application. All seven briquette recipes developed succeed in promoting slag foaming.

Slag Behavior in Gasifiers. Part I: Influence of Coal Properties and Gasification Conditions

open access: yesEnergies, 2013
In the entrained-flow gasifiers used in integrated gasification combined cycle (IGCC) plants, the majority of mineral matter transforms to liquid slag on the wall of the gasifier and flows out the bottom.

Carbon Dioxide Uptake and Storage in Construction Materials: Mechanisms, Theoretical Capacity, and Global Potential

open access: yescScience, Volume 2, Issue 2, June 2026.
ABSTRACT The construction sector constitutes a major source of global carbon dioxide emissions, and cement production contributes substantially via fuel combustion and limestone decomposition. These challenges have encouraged the incorporation of carbon dioxide into construction materials through mineralization.

Slagging gasification of coal under addition of flux agents

open access: yesFuel Processing Technology, 1985
Abstract Despite a general trend towards higher reaction temperatures with coal gasification processes of the second generation, process and material considerations also make it desirable to limit temperatures to a maximum of about 1500°C to 1600°C. For coal gasifiers to be operated under slagging conditions this means that feed coals with high ash ...

Tailoring of Waste‐Derived CO2 Adsorbents From the Perspective of Apparent and Intrinsic Property Regulation

open access: yescScience, Volume 2, Issue 2, June 2026.
ABSTRACT The conversion of waste materials into solid CO2 adsorbents is a promising strategy for carbon capture and waste management. In this review, we discuss recent advances in the preparation and modification of waste‐derived CO2 adsorbents, including carbon‐based materials, zeolites, metal–organic frameworks, layered double hydroxides, CaO, and ...

Millimeter/Nano‐Structured Metal Monolithic Catalysts: A Privileged Opportunity for Sustainable Water Purification

open access: yesRare Metals, Volume 45, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Cross‐scale assembly of metal (sub) nanoparticles and/or single atoms into millimeter/nanostructured metal monolithic catalysts (Min‐SMCs) is highly appealing for sustainable water cleanup, due to energy‐efficient catalyst recyclability, high infrastructure compatibility, and low metal‐releasing risks.
