Experimental research on creep characteristics and failure mechanism of mining roadway in nearly vertical coal seams

open access: yesFrontiers in Earth Science
Introduction: Nearly vertical coal seams present a significant challenge for the coal mining industry due to their difficult accessibility. However, these seams account for a substantial proportion of the world’s coal reserves.

Extraction and identification of spectrum characteristics of coal and rock hydraulic fracturing and uniaxial compression signals

open access: yesInternational Journal of Coal Science & Technology, 2023
Microseismic (MS) events generated during coal and rock hydraulic fracturing (HF) include wet events caused by fracturing fluid injection, in addition to dry events caused by stress perturbations.

Coal-shale interface detector [PDF]

open access: yes, 1980
A coal-shale interface detector for use with coal cutting equipment is described. The detector consists of a reciprocating hammer with an accelerometer to measure the impact of the hammer as it penetrates the ceiling or floor surface of a mine ...

Future energy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Energy resources have been a major focus for BGS over our 175 year history. In the past, our geologists searched for coal to keep the UK supplied with energy crucial for economic development.

Improved Systemic Immunochemotherapy Employing an Oxaliplatin‐TLR7/8 Agonist Prodrug Strategy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A platinum(IV) prodrug is developed to systemically deliver the TLR7/8 agonist gardiquimod. Tumor‐targeting is mediated by an albumin‐binding maleimide, which limits premature complex activation. Ox‐Gardi‐Mal accumulates specifically in the tumor, where it activates the immune system.

Nanoarchitectonics of Porous Carbons Templated by Inorganic Metal Oxides and Alkali Metal Salts for Energy and Environmental Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This review explores inorganic metal oxides and metal salt nanoparticles templated porous carbons, highlighting their synthesis, structural features, and performance in energy and environmental applications. It critically compares template types, porosity control, and functional outcomes across recent literature.

Climate Action Impacts on Steelmaking Emissions of Persistent Organic Pollutants Highlight a Gap Between the Paris Agreement and the Stockholm Convention

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Emissions of unintentionally produced persistent organic pollutants (UPOPs) and global warming are two major environmental challenges. But their governance has largely evolved in parallel, leaving the toxicity implications of climate‐driven industrial transitions poorly understood.

Research on Mechanical Response Mechanisms of Interlayer Rock Strata in Closely Spaced Coal Seam Mining

open access: yesAdvances in Civil Engineering
Closely spaced coal seams holds significant importance in global energy development, as the mechanical response mechanism of interlayer rock strata directly governs roadway deformation and stress concentration levels.

SpatialESD: Spatial Ensemble Domain Detection in Spatial Transcriptomics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Spatial transcriptomics (ST) measures gene expression while preserving spatial context within tissues. One of the key tasks in ST analysis is spatial domain detection, which remains challenging due to the complex structure of ST data and the varying performance of individual clustering methods. To address this, we propose SpatialESD, a Spatial
