The Optimization of a Coal Water Slurry Atomizer

Volume 3: Coal, Biomass and Alternative Fuels; Combustion and Fuels; Oil and Gas Applications, 1989
A coal water slurry (CWS) air assist atomizer has been optimized for use in a coal fueled gas turbine engine. The nozzle is a refinement of a successful atomizer originally designed to operate at an atomizing air/fuel ratio of 1:1 and a pressure ratio of 2:1.

Study on Enhancing the Slurry Performance of Coal–Water Slurry Prepared with Low-Rank Coal

Journal of Dispersion Science and Technology, 2014
Although coal–water slurry (CWS) with low-rank Shenhua coal has poor slurry performance, it is a good power coal with many advantages including low ash content and ease of incineration. This article establishes differences between the slurry performance of CWS prepared with low-rank Shenhua coal and medium-rank Shandong coal.

Effect of Coal Particle Size on Coal-Water Slurry (CWS) Atomization

Heat Transfer: Volume 2, 1997
Abstract The effect of coal particle size on coal-water slurry (CWS) atomization is examined by comparing classified CWS sprays containing coal particles in different size ranges. The sprays are generated by injecting a CWS mixture into a sonic air jet and the Malvern sizing system nonintrusively measures spray Sauter mean diameters (SMD)

Numerical Simulation of Coal Oil Water Slurry Gasification Process in New-Type Coal Water Slurry Gasifier

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2012
The gasification process of coal oil water (COW) slurry in new-type coal water slurry(CWS) gasification furnace was studied with numerical simulation method. The temperature and concentration fields were obtained for the gasification furnace. The simulated results showed that the gasification effect of the new-type coal water slurry gasification is ...

Utilization Slurry Coal-Water Fuel

2014
The opportunity of technological and modified lignosulphonate wastes, process water, oxygenized brown coal with high content huminic acid (to 60 %) with alkali usage as plasticizer agent in the coal-water slurry (CWS) production technological process was checked. The CWS stability scheme in alkali additives interaction was suggested. The bituminous and

Coal-water slurry: A status report

Energy, 1986
Abstract During the years of oil shortage and rapidly increasing oil prices, the need to decrease dependence on oil-fired utility boilers became an urgent concern. The alternatives were to: 1. (1) build new coal-fired stations; 2. (2) modify oil-fired boilers to fire pulverized coal; 3.

Polymeric dispersants for coal–water slurries

Colloids and Surfaces A: Physicochemical and Engineering Aspects, 2005
Abstract The effect of several low molecular weight polymers (MW  Good coal dispersants are also strong flotation depressants. The poor dispersing performance of hydroxypropyl cellulose correlates well with the inability of the polymer to depress the natural floatability of the bituminous coal.
