Study on the pyrolysis behavior of coal-water slurry and coal-oil-water slurry
Journal of the Energy Institute, 2022Abstract In this work, different concentrations of coal-water slurry and coal-oil-water slurry were prepared and pyrolyzed at various temperatures of 800–1000 °C. The chemical characteristics and combustion reactivities of chars and the formation mechanism of main gas components of CO, CO2, CH4, and H2 were investigated. With the water content of the

Viscometry and rheology of coal water slurry
Fuel, 1986Abstract This paper presents the results of a detailed experimental study on rheological behaviour of coal water slurry (CWS). In contrast to earlier rheological studies at shear rates of rather narrow ranges, this study covered a much wider range of shear rates: 0–800 s −1 in a rotational viscometer and 400–10000 s −1 in a capillary viscometer ...

The influence of pre-absorbing water in coal on the viscosity of coal water slurry
Fuel, 2016Abstract Coal water slurry (CWS) with high solid content and low viscosity can allow for efficient and environmentally friendly gasification. In the process of CWS preparation, water will enter pores of coal particle to form inner water, resulting in a decrease in free water among particles and an increase in viscosity.

Blended coals for improved coal water slurries
Journal of China University of Mining and Technology, 2008Three coal samples of different ranks were used to study the effect of coal blending on the preparation of Coal Water Slurry (CWS). The results show that by taking advantage of two kinds of coal, the coal concentration in slurry made from hard-to-pulp coal can be effectively improved and increased by 3%–5% generally.

Rheology of coal-water slurries
Solid Fuel Chemistry, 2009The costs of preparation and burning of coal slurries, in particular, coal-water fuel (CWF), considerably exceed the cost of coal utilization according to the conventional technology. CWF technology projects suggest that additional expenditures will be compensated for by the profitability of their pipeline transport in the laminar regime.
