'Coalesce'

Proceedings of the 21st Annual Conference of the Australian Computer-Human Interaction Special Interest Group: Design: Open 24/7, 2009
Sensemaking is an ill-defined, iterative and complex activity concerned with the way people approach the process of collecting, organizing and creating representations of information. The user needs to be supported in two cognitive tasks: 'representation construction', which involves finding an appropriate structure to aid sensemaking and 'encoding ...

Acute Coalescent Mastoiditis

Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery, 1981
A retrospective review of 11 cases of acute coalescent mastoiditis from 1974 to 1979 is presented. The common historical data include the recent onset of purulent otitis media, which was often incompletely treated with antibiotics, and fever, lethargy, and irritability. The eardrums were red, bulging, and usually intact.

Coalescent Size Versus Coalescent Time with Strong Selection

Bulletin of Mathematical Biology, 2007
This work studies the coalescent (ancestral pedigree, genealogy) of the entire population. The coalescent structure (topology) is robust, but selection changes the rate of coalescence (the time between branching events). The change in the rate of coalescence is not uniform, rather the reduction in the time between branching events is greatest when the ...

COALESCED ABELIAN BOSONIZATION

Modern Physics Letters A, 1995
We extend the Abelian bosonization by letting some fermionic as well as bosonic fields coincide (coalesce). To achieve this we use a generalization of the Cauchy determinant formula.
