The behavior of alumina raft at the bath-metal interface in an electrolysis cell has been simulated by a numerical model in a past study. Further improvement on the numerical model led to broader application and a more «cell-like» scenario. The model now considers three distinct bath-metal interface phenomena.

Physical properties of poly(ɛ-caprolactone) coalesced from its α-cyclodextrin inclusion compound
Polymer, 2011Abstract Poly(ɛ-caprolactone) (PCL) is a biodegradable/bioabsorbable polyester used in such biomedical applications as drug delivery and suture manufacturing. PCL has relatively poor physical properties, however, limiting its load-bearing applications. In this work, PCL was processed with α-cyclodextrin (α-CD) to form an inclusion complex (IC).

AbstractExperimental coalescence time and time distribution studies of the coalescence of a single droplet at a plane interface are presented for four two‐component–two‐phase systems. The results have been analyzed by dimensional analysis and statistical analysis, and a correlation of coalescence time and coalescence time distribution with the physical

Abstract This research presents the crack coalescence mode and physical field evolution characteristics of a brittle material containing two 3-D parallel embedded flaws. A numerical model based on the flat-joint model is established and validated by laboratory experiments.

Physical Pointers to God's Omnipresence: Do Immanence and Transcendence Coalesce?
Theology and Science, 2008In Romans 1:20 of the Bible, St. Paul tells us: “Ever since the creation of the world His invisible nature, namely, His eternal power and deity, has been clearly perceived in the things that have b...

Abstract This study is concerned on the coalescence behavior of dimethyl disulfide drops and its mother-phase at the planar interface of sodium hydroxide aqueous solutions. This phenomenon is an essential part of the well-known Merox process. Three surfactant types of non-ionic Tween 20, anionic sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) and cationic cetyl ...

A full wave solution based on the complete expansion of the fields and the imposition of exact boundary conditions was developed to investigate propagation in irregular stratified media. On applying this approach to scattering and depolarization by two dimensionally rough surfaces separating two media with arbitrary (complex) permittivity and ...
