Meter‐Scale Distance Manipulation of Diverse Objects with Jet‐Induced Airflow Field

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, Volume 6, Issue 11, November 2024.
In this article, the first demonstration of noncontact manipulation of objects using jet‐induced airflow fields up to 2.7 m away is presented. A method is developed for automatically manipulating objects of diverse shapes—regular, irregular, and deformable.

Design and test of a prototype scale ejector wing [PDF]

open access: yes, 1979
A two dimensional momentum integral analysis was used to examine the effect of changing inlet area ratio, diffuser area ratio, and the ratio of ejector length to width. A relatively wide range of these parameters was considered.

Sediment Source Partitioning and Budgeting Over Historical Timescales in a Glacierized, Mountain Catchment

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Earth Surface, Volume 129, Issue 10, October 2024.
Abstract Managing and living with geohazards is especially challenging in mountain landscapes and requires an understanding of catchment‐scale sediment dynamics and internal system functioning. While sediment budgeting is a valuable framework, challenges remain including partitioning sediment yield by source and grain size and addressing scale issues ...

The Influence of Location of Coanda Surface Ribs on Fluidic Oscillator Performance

open access: yesEngineering Proceedings
Double feedback fluidic oscillators, which create oscillating fluid jets, are commonly used in flow control and thermal applications. The geometry of the Coanda surface affects the oscillation frequency, jet deflection angle, and pressure drop in the ...

A hypothesis on treatment strategy of severe multicentric Castleman disease with continuous renal replacement therapy

open access: yesJournal of Cellular and Molecular Medicine, Volume 28, Issue 17, September 2024.
Abstract Castleman disease (CD) is a rare lymphoproliferative disorder, with non‐specific clinical manifestations, often delayed diagnosis and treatment, which pose a significant challenge in the present times. Patients diagnosed with this disease have poor prognosis due to the limited treatment options.

RNA methylation sequencing shows different gene expression signatures for response to azacytidine therapy in high‐grade myelodysplastic syndromes

open access: yesJournal of Cellular and Molecular Medicine, Volume 28, Issue 18, September 2024.
Abstract Myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) are myeloid malignancies with heterogeneous genotypes and phenotypes, characterized by ineffective haematopoiesis and a high risk of progression towards acute myeloid leukaemia (AML). Prognosis for patients treated with hypomethylating agents (HMAs), as is azacytidine, the main drug used as frontline therapy for
