Human hypoxia models in aerospace medicine: Potential applications for human pharmacological research

open access: yesBritish Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, Volume 92, Issue 1, Page 58-72, January 2026.
Aerospace medicine required controlled terrestrial models to investigate influences of altered atmosphere conditions, such as hypoxia, on human health and performance. These models could potentially be expanded to encompass disease conditions or treatment targets regulated through hypoxia or hypercapnia.

Cellular Senescence, Inflammaging and Cardiovascular Disease

open access: yesImmunological Reviews, Volume 337, Issue 1, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Aging is the most important yet unmodifiable risk factor for cardiovascular disease (CVD). As a result, targeting cardiovascular aging has emerged as a promising strategy to promote long‐term cardiovascular health. This review summarizes current knowledge on the effects of aging within the cardiovascular system as well as systemic processes ...

The Immunological Consequences of Clonal Hematopoiesis in Heart Failure

open access: yesImmunological Reviews, Volume 337, Issue 1, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Inflammation is increasingly recognized as a central driver of heart failure (HF), particularly in older adults, yet the underlying immune mechanisms remain diverse and incompletely understood. Clonal hematopoiesis (CH), defined by the expansion of somatically mutated hematopoietic clones, has emerged as a risk factor for the development of ...

Modeling Pressure‐Dependent Wave and Vessel Compliance in the Brain Following Middle Cerebral Artery Occlusion

open access: yesMicrocirculation, Volume 33, Issue 1, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Objective This study demonstrates the impact of alterations in pressure, vascular compliance, arterial pulsatility, and autoregulation on tissue perfusion following middle cerebral artery (MCA) occlusion using mathematical modeling. Methods Our previous mathematical model of the cerebral circulation is expanded to include vessel compliance and
