Temporary Solidification of Coarse Grained Soil by Magnetorheological Fluids
Soil Dynamics Symposium in Honor of Professor Richard D. Woods, 2005Magnetorheological fluids (MRFs) are suspensions of micron-sized, magnetizable particles in a base fluid such as water, oil, or silicon, that freely transition from fluid to semi-fluid to solid states when subjected to magnetic fields. The pr esent paper explores the usage of MRFs to temporarily solidify coarse -grained soils.

Modeling SWCC for Coarse-Grained and Fine-Grained Soil
2020Following Chap. 2, the work is extended to predict SWCC of a soil with different initial densities by using Bayesian method, for both coarse-grained and fine-grained soil. An adjustment parameter (β) is introduced to express the relationships between the matric suctions of two soil samples.
