Integrating Multiple Data Sources Improves Abundance Estimation in Spatial Capture–Recapture Models
This study demonstrates how integrating multiple data streams improves abundance estimation for a wide‐ranging marine population, eastern North Pacific blue whales. The application of this approach is valuable to accurately track population size which is critical to guide conservation and management strategies.

Current photo‐ID surveys have identified 10 common bottlenose dolphins that were originally freeze‐branded from a health assessment in the Mississippi Sound from 1982. These dolphins have experienced long‐term site fidelity with confirmed ages being above 30+ years old, and one individual being 47 years old.

Whale See, Whale Do: Drone Observations Reveal Social Learning Processes in Mom‐Calf Pairs
Opportunistic drone footage of 15 gray whale mom‐calf pairs collected over 9 years off the Oregon coast reveals evidence of social learning processes. This is the first evidence of imitation in gray whales and the strongest evidence for PCFG gray whale culture to date.

Abstract Predators regulate prey populations across ecosystems, driving heterogeneity in prey distribution through both direct consumption and indirect “fear” effects. Such effects generally demonstrate a positive relationship with predator density and length of exposure to predation. Juvenile white sharks (Carcharodon carcharias; JWS) are a generalist

Seafloor mapping in a high Arctic fjord (Grise Fiord) revealed many submarine landslides triggered by iceberg groundings, coastal debris flows and delta collapses. The dating of three of them suggests that they occurred at past climate transitions. ABSTRACT Arctic fjords are experiencing rapid environmental change driven by amplified high‐latitude ...
