Annual and Seasonal Rainfall Variability in Mozambique During the Nineteenth Century
This paper presents the first annually and seasonally resolved reconstructions of nineteenth‐century rainfall variability for Mozambique derived from the analysis of extensive documentary evidence. It reveals spatially heterogeneous rainfall patterns with recurrent multi‐year droughts, episodic extreme wet events, and a strong coherence between ...

Evaluation of Inundation Probability Using Storm Surge Coastal Inundation Prediction Map DB
This study evaluates the probability of inundation, which is not provided by deterministic storm surge coastal inundation prediction maps based on return periods. Busan was selected as the study area and an inundation database was constructed using hypothetical typhoon scenarios to create coastal inundation prediction maps.

ABSTRACT Glaciokarst landscapes pose distinctive challenges for cosmogenic dating because meltwater and runoff can be rapidly rerouted into ponors and conduit networks, weakening glacier–river coupling and promoting local sediment storage. We reconstruct glacier retreat and postglacial stabilization on the Snežnik Plateau (SW Slovenia) using in situ ...

Elevation Uncertainty in Coastal Inundation Hazard Assessments
Coastal inundation has been identified as an important natural hazard that affects densely populated and built-up areas (Subcommittee on Disaster Reduction, 2008). Inundation, or coastal flooding, can result from various physical processes, including storm surges, tsunamis, intense precipitation events, and extreme high tides. Such events cause quickly
