Biological Diversity, EarlyView.The first inventory of ants from the Xisha Islands of the South China Sea was compiled, revealing 21 species: 70% native and 30% exotic. Anthropogenic disturbance primarily drove exotic colonization, whereas island area showed weak positive effects on species richness. Most ants were omnivorous, with key mutualistic and seed‐dispersal roles.
