A Broadband Coaxial Ridged Horn Antenna

19th European Microwave Conference, 1989, 1989
The bandwidth of a circular ora rectangular waveguide can he enhanced by introducing ridges into the waveguide. In this work, ridges are introduced into the coaxial waveguide with the same intention. Simple formulae are given to calculate the cut-off frequencies of the coaxial ridge waveguide.

The (un)expected benefits of coaxial antennas for MRI

2021 International Conference on Electromagnetics in Advanced Applications (ICEAA), 2021
Shielded-coaxial-cable loops, or high impedance coils (HICs), are receiving increased interest in the MRI community because of performance benefits such as better decoupling, lower peak SAR in transmit mode and a flexible coil design. In this work, we summarize our recent efforts in understanding and applying coaxial conductors for antenna design in ...

A modular coaxial colinear antenna

Sixth International Conference on `HF Radio Systems and Techniques', 1994
A new type of coaxial colinear antenna (CoCo) is introduced. The design approach is based on separating individual monopoles by inserting junction boxes. With this method, each junction is localised and then its matching can be accomplished. The antenna is built up by connecting coaxial elements on junction boxes.

Bandwidth investigation of coaxial colinear antennas

Ninth International Conference on Antennas and Propagation (ICAP), 1995
Coaxial colinear (CoCo) antennas were considered, for decades, just as being wire antennas. However, the concept of the colinear phased array has been introduced by a number of authors. The principle of dual behaviour (transmission line-cylindrical antenna) allowed a better comprehension of these antennas.

The coaxial-collinear antenna of advanced manufacturability

2005 15th International Crimean Conference Microwave & Telecommunication Technology, 2005
The results of investigation the coaxial-collinear antenna with advanced manufacturability are presented. The antenna is a packed cophasal array on the coaxial feeder basis having circumferential slots in its outer conductor, spaced with distances /spl lambda//sub /spl epsi// and 2/spl lambda//sub /spl epsi// and coaxially covered with half-wavelength ...

An Probe Antenna Using Coaxial Cable

2019 International Workshop on Electromagnetics: Applications and Student Innovation Competition (iWEM), 2019
Sensor antenna is an interesting concept for nondestructive testing. For example, we can observe the stats of reinforced concrete (RC) in buildings. However, if the concrete gets moisture by rain and so on, the quality of concrete will deteriorate. To avoid this, we have to regularly monitor the quality of the concrete.

Conformal antennas with coaxial probe feed

2016 21st International Conference on Microwave, Radar and Wireless Communications (MIKON), 2016
The article presents analysis of the impact of cylindrical antennas radius of curvature on their basic parameters and characteristics of radiation. For the selected frequency range there was designed planar and cylindrical microstrip antenna with coaxial feed. For conformal surface radius length was varied in the range 0.2 – 50 Λ0.

Coupling Between a Radiating Coaxial Cable and a Dipole Antenna

IEEE Transactions on Communications, 1975
The coupling loss between a coaxial cable with a circumferential gap and a dipole antenna is analyzed. The numerical results have application to continuous-access guided communication (CAGC) and to related leaky feeder systems now being used in intramine communications.

Complex Antenna Factors of Resistor Loaded Dipole Antennas with Coaxial Cable Balun

IEICE Transactions on Communications, 2006
This letter presents the characteristics of complex antenna factors of a resistor loaded dipole antenna with a balun consisting of two coaxial feeders (coaxial cable balun). The resistor loading is used to realize dipole antennas with higher fidelity than unloaded dipole equivalents.

Coaxial feed‐type microstrip patch antenna with variable antenna height

Electronics and Communications in Japan (Part I: Communications), 2003
AbstractThis paper describes a functional antenna with variable antenna height in which the coaxial feed section of the microstrip patch antenna is engineered. This is a new type of antenna combining mechatronic technology and the microstrip antenna so that the resonant frequency of the antenna can be varied by mechanical adjustment of the antenna ...
