Overlaid Conductive Silver Nanowire Networks on Gas Diffusion Electrodes for High‐Performance Electrochemical CO2‐to‐C2+ Conversion

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work presents a rational electrode design for electrochemical CO2 reduction, employing Ag nanowire networks as both current collectors and tandem catalysts. The Ag nanowires are deposited onto the catalyst layer, forming a stacked PTFE/catalyst/Ag nanowires configuration.

Engineering a Virus‐Derived X Family DNA Polymerase FvPolX for de novo DNA Synthesis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this study, a Faustovirus‐derived polymerase (FvPolX) is engineered based on structural and sequence analysis of PolX enzymes. The optimal mutants demonstrate substantially enhanced catalytic activity toward dNTPs and 3′‐ONH2‐dNTPs compared to the wild‐type enzyme.

Effects of Different Loadings of Ru and Re on Physico-Chemical Properties and Performance of 15% Co/Al2O3 FTS Catalysts [PDF]

open access: yesIranian Journal of Chemistry & Chemical Engineering, 2005
An extensive study of Fischer-Tropsch synthesis (FTS) on alumina-supported cobalt catalysts promoted with different amounts of ruthenium and rhenium is reported. Up to 2 wt% of promoters, are added to the catalyst by coimpregnation.

Enzymatic Basis for the Oxidative Branch of Aromatic Amino Acid Fermentation Leading to p‐cresol Formation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In anaerobic bacteria, tyrosine serves as an electron donor in the oxidative Stickland fermentation branch, generating p‐hydroxyphenylacetate, ATP and reduced ferredoxin for decarboxylation into p‐cresol. ABSTRACT The phenolic metabolite p‐cresol is a byproduct of tyrosine fermentation by certain strictly anaerobic bacteria, including the human gut ...

Nanocurvature‐Activated Dipolar Polarization in M–N4 Single‐Atom Sites for High‐Performance Electromagnetic Wave Absorption

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Increasing nanocurvature effectively enriches the local electron density of the M–N4 motif, which facilitates electron transfer from the metal center to nitrogen atoms. This electronic behavior intensifies the localization and asymmetric distribution of charge, thereby significantly amplifying the dipole moment and polarizability.

Elucidation of role of graphene in catalytic designs for electroreduction of oxygen

open access: yes, 2018
Graphene is, in principle, a promising material for consideration as component (support, active site) of electrocatalytic materials, particularly with respect to reduction of oxygen, an electrode reaction of importance to low-temperature fuel cell ...
