The heterogeneous impact of European Central Bank asset price surprises on corporate liquidity demand

open access: yesEconomica, EarlyView.
Abstract Theories of corporate liquidity demand build on the notion that firms accumulate cash to safeguard their activities in the face of costly external finance. Monetary policy provides a clear source of exogenous variation in the external finance premium.

New results from CERES

open access: yes, 2004
During the year 2000 the CERES experiment, upgraded with a radial drift TPC, took a large data sample of Pb on Au collisions at 158 AGeV triggered on the 8% most central collisions. A very detailed calibration of the radial drift TPC was since completed.

Tim Burton's Christmas Chaos: Abject Transgression in Batman Returns, the Nightmare Before Christmas, and Edward Scissorhands

open access: yesThe Journal of American Culture, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Tim Burton's Christmas trilogy, Batman Returns, The Nightmare Before Christmas and Edward Scissorhands are all characterized by his trademark features. These include characters with ambiguous identities, apparently “normal” worlds adjacent to spaces associated with difference and exclusion, and the inevitable intrusion of the latter into the ...

How the Threat of Knowledge Loss Drives Firms’ R&D Dynamism: A Threat Rigidity Perspective

open access: yesJournal of Management Studies, EarlyView.
Abstract Drawing on threat rigidity theory, this paper argues that the threat of knowledge loss gives rise to a threat rigidity effect in firms’ R&D function, that is, reduces their R&D dynamism. It further argues that the dampening of R&D dynamism is greater for firms more vulnerable to the threat of knowledge loss due to facing greater product market

Experimentally Constrained Molecular Relaxation: The Case of Glassy GeSe2

open access: yes, 2004
An ideal atomistic model of a disordered material should contradict no experiments, and should also be consistent with accurate force fields (either {\it ab initio}or empirical).

Partial Correction of Cobb Angle Prior to Posterior Spinal Instrumentation

open access: yesAnnals of Saudi Medicine, 2000
A substantial contribution to the overall surgical correction of Cobb angle has been observed to occur prior to securing the instrumentation. Knowledge specific to the amount of correction prior to instrumentation is scarce in the medical literature. If significant correction is due to the positioning and muscle stripping during exposure of the spine ...

The Cervical Vertebral Bone Quality Score Is a Novel Reliable Index Reflecting the Condition of Paraspinal Muscles and Predicting Loss of Cervical Lordosis After Open‐Door Laminoplasty

open access: yesOrthopaedic Surgery, Volume 17, Issue 5, Page 1406-1417, May 2025.
There is a close correlation between C‐VBQ scores and the cervical deep extensors, deep flexors, and overall paraspinal muscles relative cross‐sectional area (RCSA) and degree of fat infiltration (DFF). The C‐VBQ score is a comprehensive parameter reflecting the quality of cervical bone and paraspinal muscles.

Vibratory Finishing of Stereolithography Parts [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
Rapid Prototype polymer resin models produced by Stereolithography have, by the nature of the process, a relatively poor surface roughness, particularly on concave and convex surfaces.
