Safety for the environment of a feed additive consisting of narasin (Monteban® G100) for chickens for fattening (Elanco GmbH). [PDF]
Abstract Following a request from the European Commission, EFSA was asked to deliver a scientific opinion on the safety for the environment of the coccidiostat narasin (Monteban® G100). The additive is intended to be used in chickens for fattening at a concentration of 60–70 mg narasin/kg complete feed.

Coccidiostatic Effects of Buquinolate in Poultry
Abstract INTRODUCTION IN SPITE of the wide usage of commercially available coccidiostatic drugs at prophylactic levels for the control of coccidiosis in poultry, coccidiosis remains one of the most common disease hazards of the poultry industry in floor-reared birds.

Efficacy of Halofuginone as a Coccidiostat for Turkeys
Large White male turkeys were raised to 20 wk of age on diets with varying kinds and levels of coccidiosis drug protection. Dietary treatments included unmedicated control (UMC), amprolium (AMP, 125 mg/kg), and 3 levels of halofuginone hydrobromide (HAL, during 0 to 4 and 4 to 8 wk of age, in 3.3; 3.1.5; and 1.5,1.5 mg/kg, respectively).

Coccidiostats in treating coccidiosis
Coccidiostats are a group of veterinary antibiotics, the residues of which in, e.g. meat or other edible tissues, are potentially dangerous to human health and life. Thus, it is important to effectively prevent intoxications. For that purpose it is essential to gather data on those antibiotics.
