Abstract Cod is exported in traditional product forms, such as fresh, frozen, salted, dried, or as clipfish. This makes it difficult to compare price changes in the export market with the first-hand price of cod. All first-hand sales of cod in Norway are organized through sales organizations that are entitled to set minimum prices.

In 1972, CODCO founding members Cathy Jones, Greg Malone, Dyan Olsen, Tommy Sexton, Mary Walsh, and Mary White were given $300 seed money by Paul Thompson of Theatre Passe Muraille.
