Green Hybrid Flow Shop Scheduling Problem Considering Sequence Dependent Setup Times and Transportation Times

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2023
For the green hybrid flow shop scheduling problem considering sequence dependent setup times (SDST) and transportation times, a mixed integer programming model is established with the objectives of minimizing the maximum completion time (makespan) and ...

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Occupation Coding of Job Titles: Iterative Development of an Automated Coding Algorithm for the Canadian National Occupation Classification (ACA-NOC)

open access: yesJMIR Formative Research, 2020
BackgroundIn many research studies, the identification of social determinants is an important activity, in particular, information about occupations is frequently added to existing patient data.

Hashing with binary autoencoders

open access: yes, 2015
An attractive approach for fast search in image databases is binary hashing, where each high-dimensional, real-valued image is mapped onto a low-dimensional, binary vector and the search is done in this binary space.

A methionine‐lined active site governs carbocation stabilization and product specificity in a bacterial terpene synthase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Survey of Binary Code Similarity Detection Method [PDF]

open access: yesJisuanji kexue
Code similarity detection can be divided into two types according to the research object:source code similarity detection and binary code similarity detection, which are commonly used in scenarios such as malicious code identification, vulnerability search,

LDPC Code Design for Nonuniform Power-Line Channels

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Advances in Signal Processing, 2007
We investigate low-density parity-check code design for discrete multitone channels over power lines. Discrete multitone channels are well modeled as nonuniform channels, that is, different bits experience various channel parameters.

Math Search for the Masses: Multimodal Search Interfaces and Appearance-Based Retrieval [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
We summarize math search engines and search interfaces produced by the Document and Pattern Recognition Lab in recent years, and in particular the min math search interface and the Tangent search engine.
