Challenges of the Dynamic Detection of Functionally Similar Code Fragments [PDF]

open access: yes2012 16th European Conference on Software Maintenance and Reengineering, 2012
Classic clone detection approaches are hardly capable of finding redundant code that has been developed independently, i.e., is not the result of copy&paste. To automatically detect such functionally similar code of independent origin, we experimented with a dynamic detection approach that applies random testing to selected chunks of code similar ...

Detecting Source Code Plagiarism on .NET Programming Languages using Low-level Representation and Adaptive Local Alignment

open access: yesJournal of Information and Organizational Sciences, 2017
Even though there are various source code plagiarism detection approaches, only a few works which are focused on low-level representation for deducting similarity. Most of them are only focused on lexical token sequence extracted from source code. In our

Calibration of source-code similarity detection tools for objective comparisons [PDF]

open access: yes2018 41st International Convention on Information and Communication Technology, Electronics and Microelectronics (MIPRO), 2018
Today there are many source-code similarity detection tools. These tools are used for many purposes and one of them is plagiarism detection, in which context this paper is written. Every time a new tool is developed authors want to show that it is better than existing ones and so they perform comparisons.

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Code Clone Detection Based on Program Vector Tree

open access: yesJisuanji kexue yu tansuo, 2020
Code cloning facilitates software development but also causes recurring bugs and software quality problems. Some types of code clones have very low similarity in literal, leading to difficulty of detection.
