Beyond Explicit Codebook Generation: Visual Representation Using Implicitly Transferred Codebooks

IEEE Transactions on Image Processing, 2015
The bag-of-visual-words model plays a very important role for visual applications. Local features are first extracted and then encoded to get the histogram-based image representation. To encode local features, a proper codebook is needed. Usually, the codebook has to be generated for each data set which means the codebook is data set dependent. Besides,

SGI 2024 Codebook

2023
The Paris Agreement serves as a global framework with the aim of averting perilous climate change. Its primary objectives are to limit global warming to a level significantly below 2°C and to strive for even greater efforts to keep the increase in temperature below 1.5°C (UNFCCC 2015).

Improved Codebook Edge Detection

Graphical Models and Image Processing, 1995
Abstract A technique for detecting edges directly from a vector-quantized image representation, called codebook edge detection was proposed by Mclean (CVGIP: Graphical Models Image Process. 55, 1993, 48-57). With this method, the edges can be detected by a simple table lookup, a so-called "edge codebook." In this paper, we propose an improved method ...

Codebook+: A New Module for Creating Discriminative Codebooks

Multimedia and Expo, 2007 IEEE International Conference on, 2007
In this paper, we introduce a new module, Codebook+, into a classical framework which combines bag-of-words image representation with probabilistic latent semantic analysis (pLSA) for unsupervised object categorization. This new module makes the framework less sensitive to the image sampling methods as well as improves its performance.

Hierarchical codebook design for fast search with Grassmannian codebook

2012 IEEE Wireless Communications and Networking Conference (WCNC), 2012
It has been well known that channel aware systems (closed-loop) have better performance than channel unknown systems (open-loop). In order to know channel in the transmitter, receivers should send own channel information the transmitter through reverse channel.

Multilingual weighted codebooks

2008 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing, 2008
In this paper we present an approach for speech recognition of multiple languages with constrained resources on embedded devices. Examples of such systems are navigation systems, mobile phones and MP3 players. Speech recognizers on such systems are typically to-date semi-continuous speech recognizers, which are based on vector quantization.

Structured Stochastic Codebook and Codebook Adaptation for CELP

1993
Since its introduction in 1984, Code Excited Linear Prediction (CELP) [1] has been intensively investigated as a promising coding algorithm for providing good quality speech at low bit rates. CELP is the name for a class of coding algorithms that employs vector quantization (VQ) using a perceptually weighted error criterion measured in an Analysis-by ...
