Magic Boundaries of 3D Color Codes [PDF]
We investigate boundaries of 3D color codes and provide a systematic classification into 101 distinct boundary types, including two novel classes. The first class consists of 1 boundary and is generated by sweeping the codimension-1 (2D) $T$-domain wall ...

The Expected Codimension of a Matroid Variety [PDF]
Matroid varieties are the closures in the Grassmannian of sets of points defined by specifying which Pl\"ucker coordinates vanish and which don't. In general these varieties are very ill-behaved, but in many cases one can estimate their codimension by ...

Modeling General Asymptotic Calabi–Yau Periods
Abstract In the quest to uncovering the fundamental structures that underlie some of the asymptotic Swampland conjectures the authors initiate the general study of asymptotic period vectors of Calabi–Yau manifolds. The strategy is to exploit the constraints imposed by completeness, symmetry, and positivity, which are formalized in asymptotic Hodge ...

Recent Developments in the Dynamic Stability of Elastic Structures
Dynamic instability in the mechanics of elastic structures is a fascinating topic, with many issues still unsettled. Accordingly, there is a wealth of literature examining the problems from different perspectives (analytical, numerical, experimental etc.)

Topological representation of matroids from diagrams of spaces [PDF]
Swartz proved that any matroid can be realized as the intersection lattice of an arrangement of codimension one homotopy spheres on a sphere. This was an unexpected extension from the oriented matroid case, but unfortunately the construction is not ...

Continuity of HYM connections with respect to metric variations
Abstract We investigate the set of (real Dolbeault classes of) balanced metrics Θ$\Theta$ on a balanced manifold X$X$ with respect to which a torsion‐free coherent sheaf E$\mathcal {E}$ on X$X$ is slope stable. We prove that the set of all such [Θ]∈Hn−1,n−1(X,R)$[\Theta] \in H^{n - 1,n - 1}(X,\mathbb {R})$ is an open convex cone locally defined by a ...

L1TV Computes the Flat Norm for Boundaries
We show that the recently introduced L1TV functional can be used to explicitly compute the flat norm for codimension one boundaries. Furthermore, using L1TV, we also obtain the flat norm decomposition.

Operator product expansion for conformal defects
We study the operator product expansion (OPE) for scalar conformal defects of any codimension in CFT. The OPE for defects is decomposed into “defect OPE blocks”, the irreducible representations of the conformal group, each of which packages the ...

Codimension one symplectic foliations
We define the concept of symplectic foliation on a symplectic manifold and provide a method of constructing many examples, by using asymptotically holomorphic techniques.

A note on the codimension of a map
AbstractJ. Mather proved that for smooth proper mappings, infinitesimal stability is equivalent to local infinitesimal stability. The Reduction Theorem extends that result to mappings of arbitrary codimensions, for it says that the (global) codimension of the mapping is the sum of all the multigerm codimensions.
