Log-concave Gorenstein sequences [PDF]
We show here that codimension three Artinian Gorenstein sequences are log-concave, and that there are codimension four Artinian Gorenstein sequences that are not log-concave. We also show that all level sequences in codimension two, and every compressed level Hilbert function in any codimension is log-concave.

A relative theory is a boundary condition of a higher-dimensional topological quantum field theory (TQFT), and carries a non-trivial defect group formed by mutually non-local defects living in the relative theory.

Abstract Let (Mn,g)$(M^n,g)$ be a complete Riemannian manifold which is not isometric to Rn$\mathbb {R}^n$, has nonnegative Ricci curvature, Euclidean volume growth, and quadratic Riemann curvature decay. We prove that there exists a set G⊂(0,∞)$\mathcal {G}\subset (0,\infty)$ with density 1 at infinity such that for every V∈G$V\in \mathcal {G}$ there ...

Jump resonance in the driven Chua's circuit to design frequency selective devices
The paper defines the conditions for the emergence of jump resonance in the driven Chua's circuit. Jump resonance features are characterized by means of numerical simulations and through an experimental circuit. Guidelines to design the Chua's circuit parameters to have the desired jump features are introduced, providing a strategy to realize highly ...

This paper investigates the codimension-two grazing bifurcations of a three-degree-of-freedom vibroimpact system with symmetrical rigid stops since little research can be found on this important issue.

A higher dimensional version of Fáry's theorem
Abstract We prove a generalization of István Fáry's celebrated theorem to higher dimensions. Namely, we show that if a finite simplicial complex X$X$ can be piecewise linearly embedded into a d$d$‐dimensional PL manifold M$M$, then there is a triangulation of M$M$ containing X$X$ as a subcomplex.

On quantum obstruction spaces and higher codimension gauge theories
Using the quantum construction of the BV-BFV method for perturbative gauge theories, we show that the obstruction for quantizing a codimension 1 theory is given by the second cohomology group with respect to the boundary BRST charge. Moreover, we give an

Obstructing Anosov flows on cusped 3‐manifolds
Abstract Using results relating taut foliations, Heegaard–Floer homology and pseudo‐Anosov flows, we find cusped hyperbolic 3‐manifolds which are not the non‐singular part of a pseudo‐Anosov flow. In particular, we find the first examples of cusped hyperbolic 3‐manifolds not admitting veering triangulations, confirming a conjecture of S. Schleimer.

Dynamics and Bifurcations of a Discrete-Time Moran-Ricker Model with a Time Delay
This study investigates the dynamics of limited homogeneous populations based on the Moran-Ricker model with time delay. The delay in density dependence caused the preceding generation to consume fewer resources, leading to a decrease in the required ...

Smooth structures on nonorientable 4‐manifolds via twisting operations
Abstract Five observations compose the main results of this note. The first records the existence of a smoothly embedded 2‐sphere S$S$ inside RP2×S2$\mathbb {R}P^2\times S^2$ such that performing a Gluck twist on S$S$ produces a manifold Y$Y$ that is homeomorphic but not diffeomorphic to the total space of the nontrivial 2‐sphere bundle over the real ...
