Teichmuller Inequalities Without Coefficient Normalization [PDF]

open access: yesTransactions of the American Mathematical Society, 1971
Teichmüller’s relation between the coefficients of extremal schlicht functions and quadratic differentials is extended. The coefficient normalization hypothesis in his theorem is dropped with the result that the new coefficient relations become more complex.

ECONOMIC INEQUALITY AND POVERTY IN EUROPEAN UNION

open access: yesActa Economica, 2019
Excessive accumulation and raising income inequality reflected on the high rates of poverty in the European Union countries. Economic literature has wide research on the link between income inequality and economic growth.

UP3: Unsupervised Predictive Path Planner for Mobile Robots in Unknown Environment

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
In this article, an unsupervised learning‐based predictive path planning framework UP3 for mobile robots is introduced. The framework employs attention‐based path optimization, control barrier functions, and a deep constraint correction module. UP3 allows the robot to use local observation to generate smooth, safe, and collision‐free path points toward

New information and entropic inequalities for Clebsch-Gordan coefficients [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The Clebsch-Gordan coefficients of the group SU(2) are shown to satisfy new inequalities. They are obtained using the properties of Shannon and Tsallis entropies. The inequalities associated with the Wigner 3-j symbols are obtained using the relation of Clebsch-Gordan coefficients with probability distributions interpreted either as distributions for ...

How Enhancing Gender Inclusion Affects Inequality: Thresholds of Complementary Policies for Sustainable Development

open access: yesSustainable Development, 2019
This study investigates how enhancing gender inclusion affects inequality in 42 African countries for the period 2004-2014. The empirical evidence is based on the Generalized Method of Moments.

Harnack Inequality for a Subelliptic PDE in nondivergence form

open access: yes, 2014
We consider subelliptic equations in non divergence form of the type $Lu = \sum a_{ij} X_jX_iu=0$, where $X_j$ are the Grushin vector fields, and the matrix coefficient is uniformly elliptic.

The Systemic Inefficiency of Australian Schools: A Policy and Measurement Review

open access: yesAustralian Journal of Social Issues, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Entrenched social inequalities mean that Australia's schooling system is far from achieving the Alice Spring's (Mparntwe) Education Declaration's equity goal. This is associated with Australian schools being among the most socially segregated within the OECD.

Remarks on the Obrechkoff inequality [PDF]

open access: yesProc. Amer. Math. Soc., 144, 2 (2016) 703-707, 2014
Oberchkoff's inequality says that a polynomial of degree d with non-negative coefficients has at most 2ad/pi zeros in the angle {|arg z|

Some quadratic inequalities on product varieties [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
We prove some positivity results on the coefficients in the complexified Hilbert polynomial of a semi-stable object. After applying these results on the classical slope stability conditions, we get sequences of quadratic inequalities for semi-stable objects on product varieties.

Distributional Limits and GINI Coefficient. [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper examines the Gini (1912) coefficient of concentration using the framework set out by Dalton (1920) for evaluating a measure of inequality. Particular attention is paid to limited distributions and the associated concept of 'perfect inequality'.
