On coefficient inequalities in the class $\Sigma$ [PDF]

open access: yesKodai Mathematical Journal, 1987
Let \(\Sigma_ 0\) denote the class of one-to-one analytic functions \(f(z)=z+\sum^{\infty}_{n=1}b_ nz^{-n}\) in \(| z| >1\). For the coefficient functional \[ Re\{b_ 5+b_ 1b_ 3+b^ 2_ 2+\lambda (2b_ 3+b^ 2_ 1)\} \] the authors obtain the sharp bounds \(1/3+\lambda^ 2-(1/3)\lambda^ 3\) if \(-1/3\leq \lambda 1\) is a consequence of what has been proved ...

Multiobjective Codesign Optimization of a Planar Pneumatic Artificial Muscle‐Based Snake‐Like Robot for Enhanced Agility and Energy Efficiency

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
A codesign multiobjective optimization framework was developed to enhance the morphology and controller of a snake‐like robot driven by artificial muscles. It improved planar locomotion, agility, and power efficiency. The approach optimized link geometry and controller gains, revealing that shorter muscles near joints and longer linkages maximize ...

Measuring Resource Inequality: The Gini Coefficient

open access: yesNumeracy, 2009
This paper stems from work done by the authors at the Mathematics for Social Justice Workshop held in June of 2007 at Middlebury College. We provide a description of the Gini coefficient and some discussion of how it can be used to promote quantitative ...

Data‐Driven Multi‐Objective Optimization of Large‐Diameter Si Floating‐Zone Crystal Growth

open access: yesAdvanced Theory and Simulations, EarlyView.
This study presents a surrogate‐based Multi‐Objective Optimization framework for Floating Zone silicon crystal growth. An ensemble of Neural Networks is trained on simulation data and combined with Genetic Algorithms to explore trade‐offs in process parameters.

Inequality Measures: The Kolkata Index in Comparison With Other Measures

open access: yesFrontiers in Physics, 2020
We provide a survey of the Kolkata index of social inequality, focusing in particular on income inequality. Based on the observation that inequality functions (such as the Lorenz function), giving the measures of income or wealth against that of the ...

Coefficient Control of Variational Inequalities

open access: yes, 2023
Within this chapter, we discuss control in the coefficients of an obstacle problem. Utilizing tools from H-convergence, we show existence of optimal solutions. First order necessary optimality conditions are obtained after deriving directional differentiability of the coefficient to solution mapping for the obstacle problem.

Single‐Target Pairing System (StarPair) for Large‐Scale Interrogation of Cell–Cell Interactions

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work presents a single‐target pairing system, StarPair, enabling cell–cell interaction studies by target combination in droplets. StarPair offers superior pairing efficiencies over 95% and operation frequencies of 105 pairs per 9.5 h for two‐target pairing, allowing large‐scale interrogation of immune cell‐cancer cell interactions and precise ...

An Estimation of Gini Coefficient in Iran [PDF]

open access: yesفصلنامه پژوهش‌های اقتصادی ایران, 2008
The Gini coefficient is a popular and a widely used index for measuring inequality. But it does not express explicitly a parameter or a value judgment to reflect the opinion of authorities or researches.

Investigating The Effect of Education Inequality on Inequality of Income Distribution in Iran’s Provinces [PDF]

open access: yesفصلنامه رفاه اجتماعی, 2023
Introduction: Inequality of income distribution is one of the socio-economic issues of developing countries, including Iran. One of the proposed solutions to deal with this phenomenon is to reduce educational inequality.

Coefficient Inequalities using Lucas Polynomials

open access: yesTurkish Journal of Computer and Mathematics Education (TURCOMAT), 2021
The aim of this paper is to apply Lucas polynomial, in order to obtain the initial coefficients on and  belonging to the new subclass   of analytic, univalent and Sakaguchi functions as defined in the open unit disc . Furthermore, the Fekete – Szego inequality is also investigated for this subclass. 2010 Mathematical Subject Classification: 30C45,
