Performance-Based Uniformity Coefficient of Chip Seal Aggregate

Transportation Research Record: Journal of the Transportation Research Board, 2009
Development of a new chip seal performance indicator called the performance-based uniformity coefficient (PUC) is presented. The PUC uses the concepts of McLeod's failure criteria for chip seals and the uniformity coefficient used for soil, sand, and aggregate.

Diagnostic performance of apparent diffusion coefficient parameters for glioma grading

Journal of Neuro-Oncology, 2018
This study was to evaluate the diagnostic performance of fractional anisotropy (FA) and apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) parameters derived from diffusion tensor imaging in the differentiation between grade II and III gliomas. The records of 60 patients (30 women, 30 men; mean age, 45.4 years) suspected of having gliomas who underwent an ADC image ...

Empirical performance of the AIDS model: constant-coefficient versus time-varying-coefficient approaches

Applied Economics, 1993
The relative empirical performance of the AIDS model is examined when constant and time-varying coefficients are assumed. It is argued that it is the latter specification which will be the more appropriate. Estimation of the constant coefficient model, using quarterly date on UK aggregate consumption, finds no evidence of co-integrating relationships ...

The maximum coefficient of performance of thermoelectric heat pumps

International Journal of Ambient Energy, 1996
SYNOPSIS The effect of three main irreversibilities existing in thermoelectric devices on the performance of a thermoelectric heat pump is investigated. The coefficient of performance and the heating load of the heat pump are derived. The optimal performance of the heat pump at maximum coefficient of performance is discussed, and the rational working ...

The maximum coefficient of performance (COP) of vortex tubes

Canadian Journal of Physics, 2015
In a number of recent publications, it has been shown that the vortex tube effect occurs as a result of the extraction of work from a radial inflow of rotating gas. The delivered energy and its corresponding temperature drop have been derived from first principles.

Determination of Partition Coefficients of Glucocorticosteroids by High-Performance Liquid Chromatography

Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 1984
Two high-performance liquid chromatographic (HPLC) techniques have been used for the determination of the lipophilicity of 50 glucocorticosteroids. For a log P range of 1 to 3, we used a persilylated octadecylsilane phase saturated with 1-octanol, which was eluted with 1-octanol saturated phosphate buffer (pH = 7).

Performance evaluation of Ammonia Absorption Refrigeration cycle based on Exergetic Coefficient of Performance

International Journal of Exergy, 2007
With the current emphasis on energy conservation, vapour absorption refrigeration cycle can be an economic alternative for conventional Vapour Compression Refrigeration (VCR) cycle. Various modifications in separation process for ammonia and water as well as different modifications in conventional Ammonia Absorption Refrigeration (AAR) cycle have been ...

Equine blood oxygenation as a coefficient of performance

Timiryazev Biological Journal
In horse breeding, it is important to introduce affordable methods for assessing the potential of the horse’s body to perform work of varying severity and in different terrain conditions (altitude, landscape features, type of work). The applicability of the method of dosing the load of working horses in highland conditions has been established on the ...
