Research on the Prediction Model of Engine Output Torque and Real-Time Estimation of the Road Rolling Resistance Coefficient in Tracked Vehicles

open access: yesSensors, 2023
Road parameter identification is of great significance for the active safety control of tracked vehicles and the improvement of vehicle driving safety. In this study, a method for establishing a prediction model of the engine output torques in tracked vehicles based on vehicle driving data was proposed, and the road rolling resistance coefficient f was

Determination of the rolling resistance coefficient of pneumatic wheel systems

open access: yesAUTOBUSY – Technika, Eksploatacja, Systemy Transportowe, 2019
The basic resistance during moving objects that are equipped with a circular system is rolling resistance. In objects powered by muscle power, such as: bicycles, wheelchairs, mobile machines, shelves and storage trolleys, the problem of rolling resistance limitation is more important than in the case of structures powered by engines characterized by a ...

Jamming transition in a two-dimensional open granular pile with rolling resistance [PDF]

open access: yesPapers in Physics, 2014
We present a molecular dynamics study of the jamming/unjamming transition in two-dimensional granular piles with open boundaries. The grains are modeled by viscoelastic forces, Coulomb friction and resistance to rolling.

Contribution of rolling resistance to the drag coefficient of spheres freely rolling on a rough inclined surface

open access: yesPhysics of Fluids
The drag coefficient (CD) of a sphere freely rolling without slipping on a rough plane is presented in this study. Increasing panel roughness has been found to increase CD, although lubrication theory predicts that the larger gap imposed by the rougher panel should yield a smaller drag.

Determination of rolling resistance coefficient based on normal tyre stiffness

open access: yesIOP Conference Series: Materials Science and Engineering, 2018
The purpose of the article is to develop analytical dependence of wheel rolling resistance coefficient based on the mathematical description of normal tyre stiffness. The article uses the methods of non-holonomic mechanics and plane section methods. The article shows that the abscissa of gravity center of tyre stiffness expansion by the length of the ...

The impact of wheelchairs driving support systems on the rolling resistance coefficient

open access: yesIOP Conference Series: Materials Science and Engineering, 2020
Abstract The 21stcentury is characterized by an increase in the obesity of society, including people with disabilities. The increase in the weight of people in wheelchairs requires them to have more power to drive these types of vehicles.

DETERMINATION OF THE ROLLING RESISTANCE COEFFICIENT UNDER DIFFERENT TRAFFIC CONDITIONS

open access: yesFacta Universitatis, Series: Mechanical Engineering, 2020
In this paper, an experimental study of the determination of the rolling resistance coefficient is carried out. The experiment tests a total of six different types of vehicles and calculates the rolling resistance coefficient depending on the condition of the surface and the type of tires.

DEM investigation on characteristics of rolling resistance for modelling particle shape

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2017
To examine the capability of rolling resistance to model the effects of particle shape, two sets of samples, composed of binary clumped particles and circular particles with rolling resistance, are tested in DEM simulation.

A Study on the Influence of Tire Rolling Resistance Coefficient on Vehicle Fuel Consumption and CO2 Emissions

open access: yesTransaction of the Korean Society of Automotive Engineers, 2018
Tire rolling resistance acts as one of the important factors in a vehicle’s fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. Tire rolling resistance is generated when rubber compounds are distorted and influenced by tire design, rubber composition, and inflation ...
