Pre-DFT combining space diversity assisted COFDM
IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, 2001A new pre-discrete Fourier transformation (DFT) combining diversity receiver is proposed for coded orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing systems and investigated in a frequency-selective fading channel. Although the post-DFT combining space diversity receiver is optimum in terms of maximizing the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) after combining, it ...

International Broadcasting Conference (IBC), 1997
A prototype 6-MHz coded orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (COFDM-6) modem for digital television (DTV) transmission was developed in Scandinavia by HD-Divine and Sintef Delab. The Communications Research Centre (CRC) tested the modem in its transmission laboratory and conducted field tests in VHF in 1995.

A Low-Complexity Iterative Detector for COFDM in Mobile Channels
19th International Conference on Advanced Information Networking and Applications (AINA'05) Volume 1 (AINA papers), 2005Recently, it has been shown that the received signal in the OFDM systems can be viewed as the synchronous code-division multiple access (SCDMA) signal in receiver after some mathematical manipulation, and the ICI term in the OFDM system is equivalent to the multiple access interference (MAI) term in synchronous CDMA system.

COFDM for broadcasting satellites in elliptical orbits
Proceedings of GLOBECOM '95, 2002This paper analyses the performance of a coded orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (COFDM) based system for digital audio broadcasting using a highly inclined orbit satellite constellation. The sources of performance degradation considered are nonlinear amplification in the satellite transponder and multipath propagation for mobile reception ...

A Channel Equalizer Design for COFDM System
2006 International Symposium on VLSI Design, Automation and Test, 2006In COFDM receiver, the full time operation equalizer is the first stage of data recovery. Since the performance of equalizer will influence the overall system performance, the hardware cost and power consumption of equalizer may not be the first issue in existing designs. In this paper, we propose an approach of equalizer for COFDM broadcasting systems.

Frequency synchronization and tracking in COFDM systems
First IEEE Signal Processing Workshop on Signal Processing Advances in Wireless Communications, 2002A computationally and memory efficient technique for achieving frequency synchronization and tracking in COFDM systems is presented. Previously proposed methods rely on the filtered phase information of pilots in two consecutive symbols demodulated at the same estimated frequency.

A study of COFDM in a terrestrial multipath environment
IEEE/AFCEA EUROCOMM 2000. Information Systems for Enhanced Public Safety and Security (Cat. No.00EX405), 2002Coded orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (COFDM) has existed for many years but it was not until 1997 when the European Telecommunications Standards Institute proposed its use for the transmission of digital television through a terrestrial channel.

Clustered-COFDM for Broadband PLC Systems
2007 IEEE International Symposium on Power Line Communications and Its Applications, 2007This contribution focuses on the performance analysis of clustered-COFDM for high-rate and multiple access PLC systems in low voltage networks. Basically, clustered-COFDM systems are simulated and compared with a OFDM system working in the same frequency range.

Versatile COFDM demodulator design based on the CORDIC-algorithm
IEEE Transactions on Consumer Electronics, 2002Following a description of the fast-Fourier-transformation (FFT) this paper discusses the advantages of the CORDIC-algorithm (coordinate rotation digital computer) compared to complex multiplication in butterfly-operations and NCOs (numerical controlled oscillator), which are often used in digital transmission systems.

Speech transmission with COFDM based on different discrete transforms
International Journal of Speech Technology, 2016Recently, the multimedia and cellular technologies have spread dramatically. Therefore, the demand for digital information has increased. Speech compression is one of the most effective forms of communication. This paper presents three approaches for the transmission of compressed speech signals over convolutional Coded Orthogonal Frequency Division ...
