Reciprocal learning for cognitive medium access

2013 IEEE Wireless Communications and Networking Conference (WCNC), 2013
This paper considers designing efficient medium access strategies for secondary users (SUs) to select frequency channels to sense and access in cognitive radio networks. The interaction among the SUs is considered as a learning problem, in which every SU behaves as an intelligent agent.

What is “cognitive accessibility” accessibility to?

Behavioral and Brain Sciences, 2007
AbstractI first argue that some of Block's formulations may misleadingly suggest that the function of mechanisms of so-called cognitive accessibility is to make one aware, not of visible features of the visible world, but of one's own psychological life.

What is cognitively accessed?

Behavioral and Brain Sciences, 2007
AbstractIs Block's issue about accessing an experience or its object? Having certain “flow” experiences appears to be incompatible with accessing the experience itself. And any experience of an object accesses that object. Such access either counts as cognitive or does not.

Cognitive Accessibility and Causal Attributions

Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin, 1982
Previous research has suggested that the relative accessibility of concepts in long term memory influences person perception judgments. The present study examined the effects of the accessibility of causal agents on attributions. The results indicated that causes that are more accessible in memory are given more weight in causal judgments than less ...

Phenomenological overflow and cognitive access

Behavioral and Brain Sciences, 2007
AbstractI argue that the partial-report results Block cites do not establish that phenomenology overflows cognitive accessibility, as Block maintains. So, without additional argument, the mesh he sees between psychology and neuroscience is unsupported.

Cognitive radio access discovery strategies

2008 6th International Symposium on Communication Systems, Networks and Digital Signal Processing, 2008
Radio access discovery of communication nodes within cognitive radio networks is paramount for successful cognitive radio operation. In this paper, radio access discovery methods utilised in wireless communication networks are described by examining their advantages, disadvantages, and suitability for deployment in cognitive radio networks. The concept

Towards Cognitively Accessible Web Pages

2010 Third International Conference on Advances in Computer-Human Interactions, 2010
Considering the design of inclusive interfaces of static and dynamic webpages, this work focuses on the group of users with cognitive/intellectual disabilities, while simultaneously accounting for the needs of users with mobility and sensory deficits. A number of specific universal design principles are derived from a variety of cognitive disabilities,
