A non-uniformly coherent combining beam
Laser Physics, 2014An approach that can be used to generate more complex and interesting optical fields is proposed by controlling the phase, position, size and amplitude of each coherent array. To illustrate the advantages of the approach, the power coupling efficiency of the optical systems with Cassegrain-telescope receivers is studied.

Dynamic beam shaping with coherent beam combining
PhotonicsViewsAbstractCoherent beam combining (CBC) is a method of enhancing laser power. It has recently transitioned to industrial applications, unveiling new possibilities in laser technology. CBC merges multiple laser channels from a single source, controlling their phase to create constructive or destructive interference.

Coherent Beam Combining of Fiber Lasers
CLEO Pacific Rim Conference, 2018Coherent beam combination has been established as a performance scaling concept for laser systems to overcome limitations of a single emitter. Today, the most powerful femtosecond fiber lasers employ his technique.

Coherent beam combining of fiber amplifiers
2003 Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics Europe (CLEO/Europe 2003) (IEEE Cat. No.03TH8666), 2005In this paper, we demonstrate the coherent superposition of fiber amplifiers in a Michelson-type setup with active amplifying arms. The diffraction limited beam quality from the amplifiers is not reduced by imposing the beams and combining efficiencies exceeds 95%.

Fiber Lasers and Their Coherent Beam Combination
Optics and Photonics News, 2008With high efficiency and exceptional beam quality, fiber lasers hold great promise. The 1-µm wavelength makes it possible for them to replace both diode- and lamp-pumped Nd:YAG lasers in the micromachining, automotive and biomedical markets.

Coherent beam combining of diode arrays
2013 High Power Diode Lasers and Systems Conference (HPD), 2013Summary form only given. There is continuing interest in increasing the power and improving the beam quality of laser sources for a variety of applications. An approach, particularly relevant to semiconductor and fiber lasers, is to beam combine large arrays of lasers.

Coherent beam combination in optical waveguides
SPIE Proceedings, 1990A general theory for coherent coupling between two co-propagating or counterpropagating guided waves is formulated within the slowly varying envelope approximation. A pair of coupled nonlinear equations is obtained for the evolution of envelope functions. A numerical result is given for coherent coupling of two co-propagating pulses in a single mode

Coherent beam combining of fiber lasers
2017 Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics Europe & European Quantum Electronics Conference (CLEO/Europe-EQEC), 2017There is continuing interest in increasing the power and improving the beam quality of laser sources for a variety of applications including materials processing, pumping, power transmission, and illumination. One approach is to continue to develop improved lasers with higher power and good beam quality.

Coherent Beam Combining of Fiber Amplifiers*
Lasers Congress 2016 (ASSL, LSC, LAC), 2016Beam combining of laser arrays has become increasing viable over the past decade as the community has developed a better understanding of the requirements imposed by beam combining. Coherent beam combining (CBC) enables scaling the brightness by large amounts, in principle by as much as the number of elements.

Beam Shaping with Neural Network Coherent Beam Combination
Optica Laser Congress Congress 2025Three Yb-fiber amplifier outputs were phase-locked and beam-shaped in a tiled aperture CBC array using a neural network algorithm executed at 1100Hz, achieving low differential phase noise (40mrad, lambda/150) with beam shaping in a single step (1ms).
